Polycystic ovulation test paper changes

Polycystic ovary syndrome is a disease that affects human creativity and may also cause female infertility. This type of disease needs to be taken very seriously. In order to know whether they have polycystic ovary syndrome, many people want to use ovulation test strips for testing. I heard that the test effect is very good. Is the ovulation test strip accurate for polycystic ovary syndrome?

Are ovulation test strips accurate for polycystic ovary?

Polycystic ovary syndrome is mainly related to the endocrine system, which can cause symptoms such as anovulation, amenorrhea, obesity, etc. Ovulation test paper can only detect whether there is ovulation or not, but cannot diagnose the disease. For detailed analysis, you can go to the hospital for B-ultrasound, gynecological examination and endocrine hormone testing.

Polycystic ovary examination method

1. Growth hormone measurement: analysis is carried out based on the measurement of gonadotropin, steroid hormones, prolactin, insulin glargine, opioids and other compounds.

2. Retroperitoneal insufflation examination and hysterography: The purpose is to observe the shape and size of the uterus, ovaries and kidneys to identify the cause of hyperandrogenuria.

3. Color Doppler ultrasound examination: bilateral ovaries are polycystic and enlarged, with thickened capsule and strong echo. Several days later, a large number of cystic eggs with a diameter of 2 to 7 mm can be seen under the capsule. The echo between the uterus and ovaries is uneven and the uterine wall is enlarged. Attention should be paid to eliminating uterine and uterine and ovarian tumors and kidney diseases.

4. CT and MRI: to assess and detect pelvic tumors.

5. Electronic endoscope: including laparoscope and laparoscopic surgery, to directly observe the histology of the uterus and ovary or perform treatments such as puncture biopsy, puncture, wedge resection and electrocautery.

6. Uterine curettage and uterine wall examination for women: In the examination of PCOS, patients aged ≥35 years should undergo basic uterine curettage and endometrial examination to understand the histological changes of the endometrium (adenocystic type/cystadenoma type/intestinal metaplasia) and to rule out endometrial cancer.

The accuracy of using ovulation test strips alone to detect PCOS is relatively low, because PCOS can cause other symptoms besides anovulation, and it is not possible to clearly determine the degree and type of these symptoms. To further test for the possibility of polycystic ovarian syndrome, it is best to go to the hospital for relevant tests.
