How come lupus erythematosus healed after giving birth?

Systemic lupus erythematosus is more common in women of childbearing age, which may be related to hormone levels. The first problem women of childbearing age have to face is getting married and having children. In the past, people with systemic lupus erythematosus were not encouraged to have children, but with the advancement of modern treatment technology, the understanding of lupus erythematosus has become clearer. As long as the lupus patient's condition is properly controlled and all indicators are within the target range, they can become pregnant and give birth to a healthy baby.

But this requires the joint efforts of patients and doctors. Patients must go to the hospital for regular follow-up visits. In addition to visiting the obstetrics and gynecology clinic, they must also visit the rheumatology clinic. If problems are found, they must be dealt with in a timely manner, and try to deal with possible complications in the bud.

Four aspects of care need to be done well:

1. To understand your own condition, patients who want to have children should see whether their condition is in the active stage or the stable stage. If it is in the active stage, you cannot get pregnant. If it is systemic lupus erythematosus, even if the condition is long-term stable, pregnancy must be under the guidance of a doctor.

2. Be careful when taking medication. When lupus patients take medication during pregnancy, they must not only consider the effects of the medication on themselves, but also the effects of the medication on the fetus. Therefore, some medications that may harm the fetus should not be used.

3. Pay attention to follow-up. Lupus patients should be followed up in obstetrics and rheumatology departments after pregnancy. The condition of the pregnant woman and the fetus should be closely monitored, and attention should be paid to preventing infection or excessive fatigue to prevent affecting the condition.

4. Do not stop taking medication without authorization. Lupus patients should not stop taking medication without authorization before planning a pregnancy or during pregnancy. If they stop treatment on their own, it may easily lead to worsening of the disease. Therefore, they should follow the doctor's advice for treatment during pregnancy to prevent recurrence of the disease.
