Nipple always leaks milk

Nipple always leaks milk

Nowadays, young people basically choose to breastfeed their children after giving birth. Breastfeeding mothers will encounter such problems in their daily lives: nipple discharge. Sometimes the milk is obviously not enough, but the discharge occurs frequently. Generally, nipple discharge often occurs in women with sufficient milk. There are many reasons why nipples always discharge milk. If this happens frequently, it is necessary to find out the cause and treat it symptomatically.

Why do nipples always leak milk?

From the perspective of breast structure, a low nipple position will cause milk leakage. Some mothers secrete more milk than their babies need, and if they do not pump milk in time, their breasts will be full and prone to leakage.

In addition, some mothers see their babies or other mothers breastfeeding, which causes a conditioned reflex and causes their own milk to leak.

It does not rule out the possibility of what Chinese medicine calls "inability to control milk and leaking it out." Traditional Chinese medicine believes that childbirth consumes a lot of mother's physical energy and causes a lot of blood loss during the delivery process. In addition, improper diet and lack of rest after delivery can easily lead to qi and blood deficiency, resulting in milk leakage.

What to do if you often have milk discharge

1. Mothers who have milk leakage problems must not be too anxious, but should stay calm and relaxed. You can wear a suitable bra to lift your breasts, making sure your nipples are not lower than horizontal. When you feel your breasts are swollen, you should feed or express the milk in time.

2. Prepare some clean towels or breast pads in advance to carry with you for wiping or to prevent clothes from getting wet.

3. You can also buy a "breast protector" to wear. If milk leakage occurs, the leaked milk can flow into the breast protector and will not flow elsewhere.

4. Reduce stimulation and try to avoid seeing scenes that can cause conditioned reflexes.

5. When attending public occasions, empty your breasts in advance and wear a bra with a protective pad. In an emergency, you can cross your hands and press your breasts hard to prevent the milk from flowing out quickly. Know where the bathroom is and prepare spare clothes in advance for disposal and changing.

6. If the problem is serious, you can consult an expert for appropriate treatment and adjustment.

Milk regurgitation may also occur if there is not enough milk. In some cases, the nipple is located low, which easily causes milk regurgitation, while in others, milk regurgitation is caused by a conditioned reflex. If you are going to work or in public, it is best to wear breast pads in advance to prevent accidents.
