How to treat uterine scar diverticulum

How to treat uterine scar diverticulum

Nowadays, many women prefer to choose cesarean section for delivery because it is safer and recovers quickly. However, after cesarean section, some complications are easily induced, such as uterine scar diverticulum disease. This disease is very harmful to women. The symptoms of uterine scar diverticulum are irregular menstruation and low pregnancy rate, etc. So how to treat uterine scar diverticulum?

First, how to treat uterine scar diverticulum? Drug treatment. Hormonal drugs are effective drugs for conservative treatment of uterine scar diverticula. Patients with uterine scar diverticula have severe menstrual disorders and do not need to have children. You can first take short-acting oral contraceptives for treatment. If there is no recurrence after 3 to 6 months of stopping the medication, you can stop treatment.

Second, surgical treatment. Currently, there is no unified surgical indication for the treatment of uterine scar diverticulum in clinical practice. It should be mentioned that the size of the scar diverticulum is not the only indication for surgical treatment. If the patient has typical symptoms or has already experienced infertility or miscarriage, surgical treatment should be actively performed. Secondly, it is also believed in clinical practice that when the thickness of the uterine muscle wall tissue above the diverticulum is less than or equal to 2.5 mm, and the depth of the diverticulum of the uterine incision is greater than or equal to 80% of the thickness of the uterine muscle wall, these are indications for surgical treatment.

Third, the commonly used treatment surgical methods in clinical practice include hysteroscopy, laparoscopy, vaginal scar diverticulum resection, etc. Relatively speaking, these three surgical methods are relatively simple and the cure rate is also very high. However, each surgery has its own advantages and disadvantages. For example, vaginal scar diverticulum resection causes less trauma and has relatively low surgical costs, but the operating room is also restricted and the area exposed during surgery is also limited. During specific treatment, the most appropriate surgical method can be selected based on the actual situation.

Uterine scar diverticulum is a problem that cannot be ignored, and it is certainly a problem that no female friend wants to encounter after a cesarean section. But don't worry too much if this situation has already occurred. As long as you use appropriate treatment methods under the guidance of a professional doctor as soon as possible and take daily health care measures, you can restore normal menstruation and fertility as soon as possible.
