What causes nose bleeding in late pregnancy?

Don’t believe it? When you reach the late stage of pregnancy, it means that you are about to give birth. Some symptoms of women at this time are very important and must be taken seriously. However, some women have symptoms of nose bleeding in the late stage of pregnancy. Therefore, many women feel very troubled and worry that nose bleeding will affect the development of the fetus or some abnormal manifestations of the body. So what is the cause of nose bleeding in the late stage of pregnancy?

1. It is normal for pregnant women to have nosebleeds during pregnancy. Nosebleeds are a common phenomenon during pregnancy, so expectant mothers do not need to worry. Because a large amount of progesterone will be secreted in the body of expectant mothers to dilate blood vessels, congestion is prone to occur. At the same time, the blood volume of expectant mothers is higher than that of the non-pregnant period, and the human nasal mucosa is very rich in blood vessels, and the blood vessel walls are relatively thin, so it is easy to rupture and cause bleeding. Especially when the expectant mother has a night's sleep, after getting up, the body position changes or when blowing the nose, it is more likely to have symptoms of nosebleeds.

2. Some pregnant women are prone to vitamin K deficiency. If vitamin K is not absorbed enough, the thrombin in the blood will be reduced, which can easily cause coagulation disorders. Not only will it cause nose bleeding, but it may also cause congenital disorders of the fetus, such as congenital vision and intellectual development disorders. Therefore, expectant mothers should pay attention to eating more foods rich in vitamin K, such as cabbage and spinach, etc. If necessary, they can take vitamin K orally under the guidance of a doctor.

3. For sudden nosebleeds, first press both nostrils and apply cold compresses to the forehead and neck. If there is no obvious hypertension or abnormal coagulation function, the symptoms will improve significantly in 5-10 minutes, and then gently blow out the blood clots in the nasal cavity. During this period, you should reduce the intake of spicy and irritating foods, avoid strenuous activities, keep your bowels open, and do not use hot water baths for a long time. Generally, you will be able to recover after 3 days if there is no obvious bleeding again. However, for recurring nosebleeds, it is best to go to the hospital for a complete nasal endoscopy to find the bleeding site and perform nasal packing. During this special period, treatment needs to be chosen with caution, and there is no special medicine that can stop bleeding quickly. Physical therapy is still the main method.
