When is the most accurate time to use ovulation test strips?

Ovulation test strips are mainly used to test women's ovulation date. They can accurately calculate the time of ovulation and increase the chance of conception. However, ovulation test strips are for women with normal menstrual periods. It is difficult to test the ovulation period for women with irregular menstruation. The ovulation test strip needs to be tested about 14 days after the menstrual period, and the female ovulation period is about a week, and sexual intercourse is required during this week to conceive.

When is the most accurate time to use ovulation test strips ?

Under normal circumstances, a woman ovulates about 14 days before the start of the next menstruation. However, due to external and internal factors, the human body may not ovulate at a fixed time, and may ovulate earlier or later. Therefore, ovulation should be tested a few days in advance, usually starting 17 or 18 days before the next menstruation, and testing once a day with ovulation test strips. The instructions for different ovulation test strips may vary slightly, but in general you should try to collect urine between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m., with 2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. being the best time. You can try to collect your urine at the same time every day, but this is not absolutely necessary. But don't test your urine right after waking up in the morning because you may miss the first day of your LH surge.

How to use ovulation test strips

1. Start testing urine around the third day after your period ends, and continue testing over the next few days. Before the test, drink less water for at least 2 hours to avoid diluting the urine and affecting the test results.

2. Insert the end of the ovulation test paper with the arrow detection line into the collected clean urine. Be careful not to let the urine exceed the MAX mark line, nor be too shallow, but try to get as close to the MAX mark line as possible.

3. Immerse the test paper in urine for about 3 seconds, and take it out when you see the red urine moving up the test paper. Take out the test paper and lay it flat. Note: Do not contaminate the test strip, allow it to dry naturally.

4. After 10 minutes, observe the test results within 30 minutes. If the test paper is completely dry for more than 30 minutes, it is easy to misjudge. Try to read the test results within the specified time.

What are the precautions for ovulation test strips?

1. The normal menstrual cycle is 28 days. The ovulation day is 14 days before the next menstrual period. Generally, the test starts on the 11th day after ovulation and continues for 6 days. However, not every woman ovulates during the middle of her cycle, and there may be no positive result during the 6-day test. Some women may ovulate prematurely due to the influence of environment, emotions and fatigue.

2. Reduce water intake 2 hours before collecting urine because diluted urine samples will hinder the detection of LH peak.

3. The changes in the color of the test line during the test should be observed and recorded. If the test result is negative but the color of the test line begins to decrease, it can also be regarded as the LH peak.

4. The test paper should be used to observe the reaction results within the specified time, and will become invalid after 30 minutes. If there is a negative test result, a light colored band may appear at the location of the test line. Observe again after a period of time.

5. Do not allow the test strip to get wet or touch the reaction membrane before use. Please close the can lid immediately after taking out the test strip from the can. The test strips should be used within the validity period and should not be used after the expiration date.

6. HCG in urine will interfere with the test results of the test paper, so the ovulation test paper is not suitable for pregnant women. If the LH peak appears for several consecutive days, you should first test whether you are pregnant.

We all know the time to use the ovulation test paper, right? It’s best for us to understand the usage of the test paper so that we can accurately calculate our ovulation period. If the test paper is not made according to the requirements, there will also be errors.
