The ovarian follicle is something that women who are preparing for pregnancy need to pay active attention to. This is because whether the ovarian follicle is normal has a great relationship with whether a successful pregnancy can be achieved. If the ovarian follicle is abnormal, the chance of pregnancy will be greatly reduced, or even lead to infertility. Ovarian follicles have certain growth patterns. So, what is the growth rate of the follicle near ovulation? This will be introduced below! 1. Follicle growth rate The growth rate of follicles is actually determined based on the morphological and functional changes in the follicle development process itself. This situation can include three stages: primordial follicles, growing follicles, and mature follicles. At this time, the follicles develop very quickly, the follicular phase will be shortened, menstruation will be frequent, and it is very likely that multiple menstruation will occur, so even if it is discovered, it should be checked in time. Follicle growth rate: Ultrasound can reveal small follicles in the ovaries on the 3rd to 5th day of the menstrual cycle. These follicles gradually grow larger, reaching their largest size on the 14th day on average, and ovulation can occur. From the 5th day of menstruation to before ovulation, the primary follicle grows an average of 1.5mm per day; before the 10th day, it grows an average of 1.2mm per day; 4 days before ovulation, it grows an average of 1.9mm until the follicle matures. Second, the growth type of follicles ① Rapid growth type, the diameter of the follicle can double in one day; ② 2~3 days before ovulation, the diameter increases by 2~3mm per day; ③It can grow by 6~7mm within a few hours before ovulation. 3. Follicular hypoplasia Follicular dysplasia refers to the failure of follicles to reach the size of mature follicles in the late follicular stage, poor function, insufficient estrogen secretion, and clinical examination cervical scores that cannot reach the expected high value (>10 points). Our monitoring team found that this situation is very common in infertile women, with an incidence rate of up to 27.0%. Moreover, it occurs repeatedly in different cycles of the same patient, with a recurrence rate of up to 63.8%. Even in their non-FM cycles, there are often abnormalities of varying degrees. This finding suggests that FM may be an important cause of infertility. Ritchie also reported that about 15% to 25% of infertility is caused by abnormal follicular development and ovulation disorders, which is similar to the data of this group. |
