Can I eat during pregnancy?

When a woman is pregnant, she will go to the hospital for regular check-ups. These checks play an important role in the physical health of the woman and the healthy development of the fetus. Women often need to undergo B-ultrasound during pregnancy. Generally speaking, there are two types of B-ultrasound, one is abdominal and the other is vaginal. No matter which type of B-ultrasound you are doing, you can eat. However, pregnant women are required to hold their urine when doing abdominal B-ultrasound.

Can I eat during pregnancy?

1. If you are just doing an ultrasound check, the fetus can eat.

2. Pregnancy check-ups include a lot of content. If it is the first check-up, in addition to B-ultrasound, other examinations must also be done, such as liver and kidney function, which require fasting. If you have done these examinations before, this time the B-ultrasound will only check the fetus, as well as do urine tests, uterine height and abdominal circumference and other routine pregnancy tests. No other examinations will be done, and you can eat.

The best time to do ultrasound during pregnancy

1. The best time for ultrasound examination is generally 5-6 months after pregnancy. The older the fetus is, the smaller the impact of ultrasound on the fetus. If you do an ultrasound too early, the gestational sac is too small to be easily observed, and it will also shake the fragile, newly formed embryo, which is not conducive to embryonic development.

2. How many times you need to do ultrasound during pregnancy depends on the specific situation. Under normal circumstances, it is best for expectant mothers to do 3 ultrasounds during pregnancy, and no more than 5 times;

3. The first ultrasound examination should be done between 12 and 16 weeks of pregnancy: At this time, an ultrasound examination can determine whether the pregnancy is single or multiple, and can measure the size and development of the fetus;

4. The second B-ultrasound examination should be done between 20 and 25 weeks of pregnancy: The B-ultrasound examination in mid-pregnancy can help expectant mothers understand the growth and development of the fetus, and can also have a further understanding of the fetal position and the amount of amniotic fluid. It can also detect fetal malformations at an early stage, such as fetal limb deformities, cleft lip and palate deformities, etc.

5. The third B-ultrasound examination should be done between 37 and 40 weeks of pregnancy: The B-ultrasound at this stage can help expectant mothers observe the fetal position, fetal size, degree of placental maturity, whether the umbilical cord is wrapped around the neck, etc., conduct a final assessment before delivery, and make various preparations before delivery, so this B-ultrasound is very important.
