Frequent fetal movement at five months

Frequent fetal movement at five months

In the fifth month of pregnancy, the mother has just passed the difficult pregnancy period. At this time, the body has almost felt comfortable, so you can engage in some simple methods to slowly move around, and eat some of your favorite foods. Many mothers will feel fetal movement in the fifth month. Fetal movement is a very comfortable thing, because at the beginning the fetal movement is not very obvious or too intense, but if the fetal movement is frequent in the fifth month, you have to see if it is normal.

Normal fetal movements are about 3 to 5 times an hour, and the number of obvious fetal movements in 12 hours may be around 30 to 40 times. Frequent fetal movements may indicate that the fetus is in a state of hypoxia. We know that the strength and frequency of fetal movements vary greatly from individual to individual. Some babies can move about a hundred times in 12 hours. As long as the fetal movements are regular, rhythmic, and do not vary much, they are all normal.

If special circumstances occur, such as the pregnant mother is hit by severe external force, which may cause violent fetal movement, or the pregnant woman suffers serious trauma, stimulation, fright, or fractures and heavy bleeding, the fetal movement may suddenly intensify and may even cause miscarriage or premature birth.

In addition to these reasons, frequent fetal movements can also be caused by the umbilical cord around the neck, placental dysfunction, abnormal medication by pregnant women, and adverse external stimuli. These stimuli may cause fetal hypoxia in the uterus. In the early stages of hypoxia, fetal movements increase, and in the later stages of hypoxia, fetal movements will gradually decrease or even disappear.

After 28 weeks of pregnancy, the fetal movement is located in the upper and middle abdomen, and rarely appears in the lower abdomen. If the fetal movement occurs frequently in the lower abdomen, we also think it may be an abnormal situation. It may be due to abnormal fetal position, most of which are breech or transverse positions. You should seek medical attention in time for a clear diagnosis.
