Postpartum toothache

Postpartum toothache

Women face many problems after giving birth. Not to mention the burden of taking care of the baby, the problems caused by the body's hormones not returning to normal are very distressing. In addition to dietary problems, toothache in women after childbirth is also caused by abnormal estrogen in the body. When you have toothache, you must keep your mouth clean to avoid developing into serious inflammation. At the same time, you must ensure rest time.

1. Keep your oral cavity clean. After giving birth, teeth become very fragile. At this time, new mothers should take good care of oral hygiene to avoid the growth of bacteria in the gaps between teeth, which may lead to gingivitis.

2. Be sure to brush your teeth. Toothache after childbirth is directly related to not brushing teeth during the confinement period. Whoever says you can’t brush your teeth during the confinement period is simply ridiculous. You must brush your teeth during the confinement period, and brush them thoroughly. However, the brushing method to protect your teeth during the confinement period is different from before.

3. Massage your gums. To prevent toothache after delivery, new mothers can massage the gums frequently to promote blood circulation in the gums, thereby relieving toothache. Within three days after delivery, you can use a finger brush to gently massage the gums, which can not only make the teeth cleaner, but also protect the health of the gums.

4. Rinse your mouth with salt water frequently. During the confinement period, mothers can rinse their mouths with mouthwash after each meal to clean the dirt between their teeth. After the confinement period, they can also rinse their mouths with salt water frequently. This can not only clean up food residues remaining in the mouth in time, but also effectively reduce inflammation and kill bacteria, relieve toothache, and keep teeth healthy.

5. Ensure adequate sleep. Another key way to prevent postpartum toothache is to ensure adequate sleep. Vigorous exercise and excessive activities will increase the pressure on the teeth, thereby aggravating toothache. Therefore, new mothers after giving birth should let their bodies rest well to prevent toothache.
