Will my nipples get bigger after breast augmentation?

Under normal circumstances, breast augmentation surgery will not cause any changes to the nipples. It only changes the size and volume of the breasts and has no effect on the nipples. If the nipple changes after surgery, it may be due to postoperative infection, so patients are advised to take timely treatment and reduce inflammation as soon as possible to avoid complications. Although the technology of breast augmentation surgery is very mature, the possibility of surgical failure cannot be avoided. Therefore, you must go to a regular hospital for breast augmentation surgery, because the medical equipment, technical level and work experience of doctors in large hospitals are more guaranteed.

How to care after breast augmentation surgery?

(1) Appropriate bandaging after surgery. The incision for breast augmentation is generally about 3 cm long. After suturing, the wound is bandaged with dressings and filled with sterilized dry cotton and cotton yarn around it and slightly fixed. An elastic chest strap is used for pressure bandage to maintain appropriate pressure. The bandage is removed 48 hours after the operation and the incision dressing is replaced. At this time, attention should be paid to observe the shape of both breasts. Generally speaking, the breast prosthesis often moves outward and upward. If this happens, an elastic band with an appropriate circumference and an adjustment buckle should be selected according to the size of the upper chest circumference. Wrap the chest above the breast to compress for 7-10 days. At the same time, after removing the bandage, an elastic bra should be worn.

(2) Posture: Patients should take a semi-recumbent position in the early postoperative period and limit chest and upper limb movements to prevent displacement of the prosthesis.

(3) Prevention of infection: As a normal reaction after surgery, some patients will have a moderate fever within 2-3 days after surgery, which is an absorption reaction. Generally, the temperature does not exceed 38 degrees. Therefore, they need to take some anti-inflammatory drugs and antibiotics orally for symptomatic treatment.

(4) Stitch removal: Generally, the stitches can be removed 7-10 days after the operation.

(5) Generally, patients can get out of bed and move around three days after surgery. Within two weeks after surgery, patients should avoid lifting their arms, holding heavy objects or doing other strenuous exercises. This is to limit the strong contraction of the pectoralis major muscles to prevent the breast implant from being compressed and displaced before its capsule grows firmly. Normal activities can be resumed after 3 weeks.

(6) Breast massage is required routinely after surgery. The purpose of massage is to prevent fibrous capsule contracture, promote blood circulation and healing of the wound, and it can usually be started three days after surgery. It should be continued for half a year. The method is to place your palms on the breasts, squeeze and knead the breasts in a circular motion, up and down, and intersperse with some light pinching.
