Intrauterine polyp surgery

Intrauterine polyp surgery

The endometrium may thicken in the uterus, and uterine polyps may occur when the endometrium thins. Most uterine polyps are small pieces, which are extra parts in the uterus. However, these polyps can cause big problems. After inflammation, they can lead to inflammatory infection and may even become malignant. Therefore, uterine polyps are very harmful to women's bodies. Polyps can be treated surgically. What types of surgeries are generally available?

1. Curettage and dilation:

For larger polyps with peduncles, they can be seen or felt in the lower part of the uterus. At this time, the polyps can be removed by dilating the cervix, and then cervical and uterine cavity curettage can be performed to scrape out the remaining polyps and send them for pathological examination.

When performing curettage for small focal or diffuse polyps, attention should be paid to comprehensive scraping, especially of the uterine fundus and uterine angles.

After intrauterine surgery, anti-infection treatment should be carried out. Antibiotics can be given orally or intravenously in clinical practice.

For patients with obvious bleeding symptoms, who have not been cured by the above treatment methods or who frequently relapse, hysterectomy should be considered.

Disadvantages: It causes great harm to women's bodies, has high risks, is expensive, and is prone to infection. Although the polyps are removed, the chronic inflammation cannot be eliminated and is prone to recurrence and worsening.

2. Laser surgery:

The optical fiber is inserted into the root of the polyp to output laser, and the laser output power is adjusted according to the size of the polyp root. When the polyp turns crimson purple, any that can be removed from the base will be removed. For sessile and smaller polyps, the needle can be directly inserted to solidify and the whitening will stop.

Postoperative treatment: Once endometrial polyps are diagnosed, surgical removal of the polyps should be the main treatment.

Disadvantages: However, after surgery, the recurrence rate of polyps is high. This surgery is expensive and prone to recurrence.

3. Treatment with Chinese medicine:

Yan Zhitang believed that it was caused by external evils and internal disturbances in the Chong and Ren meridians. Exogenous evils will lead to infection and inflammation in the uterus, which should be treated with the method of clearing away heat and detoxifying; internal disturbances such as Chong and Ren will lead to menstrual disorders, excessive metrorrhagia, and weak Qi and blood, which should be treated with the method of promoting blood circulation and nourishing blood, activating blood circulation and removing blood stasis, warming the uterus and regulating menstruation, and tonifying the spleen and replenishing Qi.

"Zhu Yu Zhi Xi Paste" can treat endometrial polyposis and achieve the effect of treating both the symptoms and the root cause, permanently eliminating the pain without the worry of recurrence. The method of use is simple. This recipe is a traditional Chinese medicine black plaster. Each set is divided into two patches, large and small. The small patch is applied to the Shenque point (navel), and the large patch is applied to the Mingmen point (lower back). There are no side effects such as infection and recurrence caused by surgery.
