Why is the urethra black?

For some male friends, because they do not pay attention to hygiene, they are prone to some diseases, such as urethritis. So, what happens if the urethra opening turns black? If there is no change after washing with water, it is best to go to the hospital for a check-up. If it can be removed with clean water, then it is likely that there are some stains. If these stains are not paid attention to in daily life, they can easily cause disease.

Generally speaking, the color of the male urethral opening is slightly redder than the glans penis. The red range does not exceed the outer edge of the urethral opening. It is naturally closed and there is no swelling, secretion, pain, etc. However, some men may find that the urethra opening turns black when urinating.

There may be many reasons for the blackening of the urethra opening, such as local pigmentation, thrombosis of superficial penile veins, and irritation from excessive foreskin. If you have unclean sexual life, there is a possibility of contracting and spreading diseases. Therefore, if the urethral opening becomes black, it is necessary to find out the cause and carry out targeted treatment.

1. Sexually transmitted diseases may cause the urethral opening to turn black, which is mainly manifested by abnormal symptoms at the urethral opening, such as urethral stinging, increased secretions, redness, swelling and pus discharge, etc. Severe cases can also cause the urethral opening to turn black. For people who have unclean sexual behavior, if the urethral opening is found to be black or purple, they need to go to a regular hospital for examination.

2. The darkening or purplening of the urethral opening may be due to local pigmentation and thrombosis of the superficial veins of the penis. Since the color of the urethral opening is easily affected by blood circulation, local and environmental factors, factors such as hot weather, sitz baths, and strenuous exercise can cause the urethral opening to turn black.

3. Because the stimulation of foreskin being too long or phimosis can cause the urethral opening to turn black or purple, but the patient often has no other discomfort and there is no secretion from the urethral opening. Some people often suffer from balanitis, at which time small red spots of varying sizes can be seen on the glans, which are locally moist and itchy.

For the above situations, it is recommended to remove the excessive foreskin or phimosis so that the glans penis is exposed and remains dry.
