Headaches during pregnancy

Headaches during pregnancy

There will be obvious changes in all aspects of a woman's body during pregnancy. A mild headache during pregnancy is actually a normal physiological reaction. The most important thing is that the body cannot be burdened by two people in the early stages, and this problem can only be solved by the pregnant woman's own adjustments. In addition to this normal physiological phenomenon, if pregnant women eat some foods that cause migraines, they should relieve their headaches properly.

1. Headaches are common during pregnancy

First of all, pregnant women need to understand that headaches in early pregnancy are not very serious. This is a normal physiological reaction during pregnancy and does not require medication. However, pregnant women must learn to regulate their bodies, supplement comprehensive, reasonable and balanced nutrients, and supplement high-quality protein, eat more fruits and vegetables, and supplement vitamins, which is beneficial to both pregnant women and children.

2. Find out the cause of your headache

With the doctor's advice, headache patients can write a diary specifically to record their headaches, which can help them find the cause of their headaches. Expectant mothers may want to write down everything they eat in the day before the migraine attack, as well as what they were doing when the pain started.

Some common causes of migraines: eating foods containing nitrites, sulfites, etc.; eating foods that may cause headaches, such as legumes, dried fruits, chocolate, and pickled foods; eating fruits that are likely to cause headaches. In addition, excessive noise and strong flashing lights can cause migraines.

3. Cold or hot compress

If you have a tension headache, both heat and cold compresses can be used, such as placing a hot towel or a towel wrapped in an ice pack on your forehead or lower part of your skull. If a migraine strikes, cold compresses may be more effective.

4. Take a shower

If you suddenly feel a severe headache, you can take a bath to relieve the headache. If you don't have the conditions to take a shower, you can wash your face with cold water.

5. Don’t go hungry or thirsty

It is best to eat small meals frequently to prevent hypoglycemia, which is a common cause of headaches. If you are busy at work or often go out or travel, you can put small snacks such as biscuits and fruits in your bag, but do not eat sugar directly, because this will cause a sudden and significant increase in blood sugar.
