Woman grinding teeth while sleeping

Many people are prone to grinding their teeth when they sleep, because different people have different customs. Grinding teeth when sleeping is actually a manifestation of disease. Many people with gastrointestinal diseases are particularly prone to grinding their teeth. Frequent grinding of teeth will have a certain impact on the sleep of patients, especially for some babies, which will affect oral hygiene. So why do women grind their teeth when they sleep?

When a baby grinds his teeth, many people's first reaction is that the baby has worms in his stomach. In fact, it is not necessarily the case. There are many reasons that may cause babies to grind their teeth, including worms in the stomach, but it may also be the influence of mental factors or diseases, which requires specific analysis of the specific situation.

No matter what the cause of teeth grinding is, it is very harmful for babies to grind their teeth at night for a long time.

It affects the baby's dental health, can cause great damage to the tooth surface, and may also make the teeth sensitive and fragile, followed by symptoms such as gingivitis and tooth atrophy.

Long-term teeth grinding will make the chewing muscles tired, which will make the baby feel sore cheeks and headaches over time. It can cause the teeth to shift or loosen, and even affect the baby's facial appearance.

Intestinal parasites

If there are roundworms in the baby's stomach, the toxins produced by the roundworms can stimulate the baby's nerves, causing nerve excitement and leading to teeth grinding. If your baby has pinworms in his stomach, it may cause him to grind his teeth. When the pinworms lay eggs at night, the baby may feel anal itching and affect his sleep.

How to deal with it: If your baby often complains of stomach pain, especially around the navel, likes to be massaged, and still plays as usual when it doesn't hurt, but wakes up easily at night, grinds his teeth and drools, rubs his buttocks or scratches his anus with his hands, and has symptoms such as loss of appetite and slow growth and development, then it is considered to be an intestinal parasitic infection. Parents should take their baby to the doctor in time and give the baby anthelmintics under the doctor's guidance.

Excessive mental stress

If your baby plays too much before going to bed and becomes too nervous; if he watches scary TV shows during the day; if he is scolded for something and feels anxious and uneasy, etc., these may cause nighttime teeth grinding.

How to deal with it: Provide your baby with a nutritious, comfortable and warm family environment; do not play too much with your baby before going to bed at night to avoid over-excitement of your baby; choose appropriate TV programs for your baby and let your baby watch less TV at night, etc.
