5 months pregnant nipple discharge

Pregnancy is really a mixed blessing for women. You are about to become a mother, but you will also encounter some problems during pregnancy. In addition to some bad physiological reactions such as nausea and vomiting that are often encountered in early pregnancy, expectant mothers often have symptoms of clear water discharge from the nipples, which is very troublesome. In addition to clear water discharge, some people have brown secretions. In this case, it depends on whether there are lumps in the breast, or some inflammatory diseases. It cannot be ruled out that there are both physiological and pathological factors.

What to do if brown discharge appears in pregnant women's breasts

1. From the 8th month of pregnancy, pregnant women can perform breast and nipple massage to enhance breast blood circulation, which not only helps the mammary glands and nipples to mature, but also prevents nipple cracking caused by postpartum breastfeeding. It can also reflexively cause the pituitary gland to secrete more prolactin and oxytocin, thereby increasing postpartum lactation. The focus of prenatal preparation is nipple massage. During the 7th to 8th month of pregnancy, the nipples should be gently wiped with a small towel dipped in warm water, 10 to 20 times a day.

2. It may be that the mammary glands are not fully unobstructed. It will be fine once the baby starts feeding. Also, the lactation now is just under the stimulation of hormones and it is not real lactation, so the amount is certainly not large. Don't worry too much, not everyone has the same amount of milk on the left and right. It is best not to squeeze the breasts at ordinary times, as excessive stimulation can cause uterine contractions and premature birth.

3. Women should keep their breasts clean and wash them regularly. It is best to wear a cotton bra to keep the breasts dry.

Why does brown discharge appear in pregnant women's lower body?

1. Threatened abortion: The main symptoms are pregnancy bleeding and abdominal pain in early pregnancy. Generally, during the threatened abortion stage, vaginal bleeding is less and abdominal pain is mild. If there is no abnormality in the fetal development, the bleeding will stop after pregnancy preservation treatment and the pregnancy can continue.

2. Ectopic pregnancy: Vaginal bleeding usually occurs about 40 days after amenorrhea, often accompanied by dull pain, bloating, and heaviness in the lower abdomen. At this time, a urine pregnancy test may be positive, while an ultrasound examination may not reveal the embryonic sac of pregnancy in the uterine cavity, and abnormal tumors may often be found in the fallopian tube.

3. Cervical diseases in pregnant women: Pregnant women who suffer from cervical erosion, cervical polyps and other diseases before pregnancy may also have brown secretions.

A woman's body often undergoes some changes throughout the pregnancy cycle, and pregnant women should understand them in advance to distinguish whether these changes are normal. What should pregnant women do if brown discharge appears in their breasts? This is a normal phenomenon, just pay attention to hygiene in daily life. If the secretions are black, you need to go to the hospital for treatment in time.
