Postpartum vulvitis

Postpartum vulvitis

Giving birth is a process that causes great damage to women's body and uterus. Many women will develop some symptoms right after giving birth, such as vaginitis, and vulvitis is the most common. This is because the wound has not yet healed after giving birth, and is infected by bacteria, causing inflammation. Common symptoms include vulvar itching, etc. So what to do about postpartum vulvitis?

Postpartum women are also one of the high-risk groups for vaginitis. The so-called postpartum vaginitis is an inflammation that a woman becomes infected with after giving birth, and is more common in normal vaginal births.

Postpartum women suffering from vaginitis often experience uncomfortable symptoms such as vulvar itching and burning pain, which poses a great threat to their health. Therefore, mothers should actively prevent and promptly treat postpartum vaginitis.

Women will have wounds after giving birth, and wounds generally take a process to heal. If the mother experiences itching in the later stages of delivery, such as pain, and local redness and swelling, and inflammation is considered a possibility, it is recommended to use alcohol for local disinfection, pay attention to regular cleaning, and wear loose and breathable underwear.

In addition, you should go to the hospital for a leucorrhea examination in time to determine the type of vaginitis infection so that you can receive symptomatic treatment.

For the treatment of postpartum vaginitis, the first thing to do is to use antibiotics rationally, and carry out corresponding physical therapy at the same time to achieve the ideal effect. For vaginitis, the principle of complete cure should be followed. For most patients, the symptoms will improve or disappear quickly after local medication treatment, but this does not mean that the inflammation has been cured, but that the pathogens have been temporarily suppressed. Patients should never stop taking the medication, but should follow the doctor's instructions and complete the course of treatment.

One is that the postpartum bleeding lasts too long. The blood stimulation causes congestion, redness and swelling. It is a non-bacterial inflammation and is not caused by any specific pathogenic bacteria. This inflammation can subside on its own. Without the stimulation of bleeding and the lochia is clean, the condition will gradually improve.

However, a common occurrence is prolonged postpartum bleeding, decreased resistance, and bacterial invasion. Because there is a good bacterial culture medium in it, it is also very important to clean yourself and shower after delivery.

Moreover, this type of postpartum vaginitis does not require treatment in most of the time, because the blood stimulation will slowly subside on its own. However, if there is a foul odor or some abnormal leucorrhea, you should seek medical treatment early.

There is another type of vaginitis, which is vaginal dryness after cesarean section. Because the bleeding time is relatively long and the vagina has not expanded through the process of the fetal head, it sometimes feels very dry. It is generally recommended to use some medications after delivery to change this situation. Because we often see that patients feel vaginal pain during follow-up examinations after cesarean section, which is related to the decrease in vaginal hormone levels and vaginal dryness, and is also a kind of inflammation. At this time, we use some drugs to protect the vaginal mucosa and allow it to rebuild the protection system.
