Is it painful to remove polyps?

Physical health is particularly important. A healthy body is inseparable from good living habits. Some women like to drink and smoke. Some women often stay up late, have great mental stress, do not eat on time, and do not pay attention to diet and nutrition, which will cause great harm to the body. If a woman has polyps in her uterus, she should go to the hospital for examination in time and undergo surgery if necessary. Does it hurt to remove polyps? Let’s take a look at it next.

1. Does it hurt to remove a polyp?

In clinical practice, hysteroscopic endometrial polyp removal uses intravenous anesthesia and the operation is performed while the patient is asleep, so the patient will not feel pain during the operation. After the operation, appropriate uterine contraction drugs need to be given to promote uterine contraction. Therefore, the patient will feel the pain of uterine contraction, just like the lower abdominal distension and pain during menstruation, which can be tolerated by most patients. Since the duration of uterine contraction drugs is short, the pain after surgery will disappear quickly.

2. Treatment policy

Cervical polyps are mainly treated with surgical removal to prevent recurrence due to incomplete treatment. Medication is only an auxiliary treatment.

3. Surgical treatment

Polypectomy or transurethral resection may be performed. Clamp the polyp pedicle with a vascular clamp, rotate it in one direction, and twist it out. Small polyps can be removed with a vascular clamp and slight pressure can be applied to stop the bleeding, or a piece of gauze can be stuffed at the neck and removed after 24 hours. If the polyp is large and has a thick pedicle, the base end can be cauterized to stop bleeding after removal. If there are multiple lesions, the cervical canal can be slightly dilated and then scraped thoroughly, and a diagnostic curettage can be performed at the same time.

4. Dietary recommendations

The diet should be light, nutritious and balanced, and eat more vegetables rich in vitamins.

5. Diet adjustment

The diet should be light and not too greasy, and patients with cervical polyps should eat more vegetables and fruits. You need to ensure that your nutrition is rich and balanced, and you need to eat more vitamin-rich vegetables. Bitter melon is a good choice.
