Breast enlargement before menstruation

Breast enlargement before menstruation

Some women will experience some physical changes due to the secretion of female hormones before their menstrual period. For example, some people may noticeably feel that their breasts have become larger, or their breasts may be painful when touched. In fact, it is normal for breasts to become larger before menstruation. This is caused by abnormal secretions of the body's machinery, so there is no need to worry too much. Next, let's take a look at why breasts become bigger before menstruation?

It's normal and not a gynecological disease. Premenstrual breast pain: Many women experience breast fullness, hardness, and tenderness before menstruation. In severe cases, the breasts will become swollen and painful with the slightest vibration or collision. This is caused by increased estrogen levels in the body before menstruation, breast hyperplasia, and edema of breast tissue.

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the appearance of these symptoms is mainly related to liver depression and qi stagnation, and liver blood deficiency, and some Chinese patent medicines that have the effect of relieving liver qi and replenishing liver blood should be used. The more commonly used one is Jiawei Xiaoyao Pills, which is a medicine made by adding moutan bark and gardenia to Xiaoyao Powder, a famous Chinese medicine prescription for regulating menstruation and nourishing blood. Xiaoyao Powder is mainly composed of Bupleurum, Angelica, White Peony Root, Poria, Atractylodes, Licorice, etc. Among them, Bupleurum, White Peony Root and Angelica Sinensis are the main medicines in the prescription.

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that liver dysfunction can affect spleen function, so the prescription also adds drugs such as Poria cocos, Atractylodes macrocephala, and Licorice, which actually embodies the essence of traditional Chinese medicine's idea of preventing disease from changing. Moreover, the spleen is the source of qi and blood production, and only when the spleen functions normally can the liver blood be "full". Patients with liver depression for a long time are prone to "fire", so red peony root bark and gardenia are added to clear away heat. In addition, people with premenstrual headaches can take Yangxueqingnao Granules, and people with premenstrual diarrhea can take Shenling Baizhu Pills. For those with premenstrual oral ulcers, you can choose Zhibai Dihuang Pills (for those with deficiency fire) or Niuhuang Jiedu Tablets (for those with excess fire).
