Do you ovulate every month?

Generally speaking, mature women will release eggs every month during their reproductive period. Normally, they will release one egg every month. If it combines with sperm at this time, it will form a fertilized egg. Finally, the sperm and egg will implant to form an embryo. Therefore, it is very important for women who want to have children to understand the ovulation period. Let us briefly understand this aspect.

Do you ovulate every month?

Normal women ovulate every month, but some women do not. As you said, if it happens only occasionally, it is normal, but if the eggs are not released normally, it may affect pregnancy. Just like some men have no sperm, some women also have no eggs.

How to calculate female ovulation period?

For a female friend who wants to get pregnant, if you know your ovulation period and have sex at this time, then the chances of conception are very high. How to calculate the female ovulation period? We can calculate it through many methods, but some methods are relatively complicated and may not be very applicable. What we are talking about here is to use body temperature measurement to estimate the time of a woman's ovulation period, which is relatively simple.

It can be obtained by inferring the menstrual cycle. According to the 28-day menstrual period, our ovulation period is generally on the 14th day of the menstrual period. When the ovaries ovulate, changes in the female endocrine system cause the body temperature to rise, so measuring body temperature is one of the methods to estimate it.

Basal body temperature refers to the body temperature measured when a person wakes up after a long period of sleep and before engaging in any activity. The basal body temperature of normal women of childbearing age changes cyclically, just like the menstrual cycle. This change in body temperature is associated with ovulation. Under normal circumstances, a woman's basal body temperature is lower before ovulation and rises after ovulation. This is because the corpus luteum formed after ovulation and the secretion of more progesterone stimulate the temperature regulation center of the hypothalamus, causing the basal body temperature to rise, which continues until the next menstrual period before it begins to drop.

The basal body temperature of the next menstrual cycle repeats the above changes. Record the basal body temperature measured every day on a temperature record sheet and connect them into a curve. You can see that the body temperature is lower in the first half of the menstruation and rises in the second half of the menstruation. This temperature curve with low temperature at the beginning and high temperature at the end is called a biphasic temperature curve, which means that the ovaries have ovulated, and ovulation generally occurs before the body temperature rises or in the process of rising from low to high. Some people believe that the lowest point before the body temperature rises is the ovulation day, but this does not happen in most cases, and only about 20% of women experience this phenomenon. The 3 days after the basal body temperature rises is the fertile period, and the period from the 4th day until the next menstrual period is the "safe period after ovulation."
