Abdominal pain in late pregnancy

Abdominal pain in late pregnancy

In the late pregnancy, if you experience abdominal cramps, you need to understand the specific cause. If the amniotic fluid breaks, it means that the baby is about to come into the world. When the pain occurs, you must understand whether it is physiological pain or pathological pain. If it is physiological pain, it is often related to uterine contractions. Don't worry too much at this time, just strengthen good conditioning.

Abdominal pain in late pregnancy

Especially after the amniotic fluid broke, the situation became more urgent and the baby had to be sent to the delivery room immediately. Expectant mothers will feel stomach pain more or less in the late pregnancy. It may be that the baby's naughty turning over irritates the expectant mother. Of course, this is normal. But if the pain is severe and there is a tearing sensation in the abdomen, the situation may be serious. Abdominal pain in late pregnancy can also be divided into physiological pain and pathological pain.

1. Physiological pain

1. The enlarged uterus will compress the ribs and cause pain. The baby is getting bigger and bigger, and the burden on the expectant mother is getting heavier. The continuous expansion of the uterus may press on the ribs, causing pain.

2. False labor can cause pain. False labor may cause mild distension and pain in the lower abdomen, and the frequency and duration of contractions are inconsistent. In fact, false labor also means that the expectant mother is about to give birth, so she must pay attention to rest at this time.

3. Fetal movement can also cause pain. As the baby's nose grows bigger, even stretching may cause obvious pain. Expectant mothers should count the fetal movements. Starting from the 28th week of pregnancy, count the fetal movements in the morning, noon and evening every day, one hour each time. Add the total and multiply by 4 to get 12 hours of fetal movements. If the fetal movement is less than 3 times per hour or more than 30 times within 12 hours, it is normal.

2. Pathological stomach pain

1. Placental abruption. Milder symptoms include vaginal bleeding, which is heavy and dark red in color. Some women may also experience abdominal pain or just mild pain. A more serious symptom is that the area of the placenta peeling off from the uterine wall is larger, exceeding 1/3 of the placenta. There will be persistent pain, backache, and lower back pain. The bleeding is related to the area of placental detachment. The more blood accumulates in the placenta, the more painful it will be.

2. Threatened uterine rupture. Abdominal pain in the late pregnancy may be caused by a sign of uterine rupture, with rupture of the uterine body or lower segment. This is a serious situation and will affect the life safety of the fetus and the expectant mother. At the beginning of the threat of uterine rupture, the expectant mother will feel continuous severe pain in the lower abdomen, her face will be very red, and her breathing will be rapid. The pain at the moment of uterine rupture will be relieved after the rupture when the uterine contraction stops. But once the uterus ruptures, everything is just beginning.
