How long is considered infertility?

Generally speaking, if a couple has a normal sex life, they will conceive a lovely baby within a year. However, some couples cannot get pregnant within a year despite having a normal sex life. In this case, they are considered infertile. At this time, they need to go to the hospital for a formal examination in time. Both husband and wife should undergo a good examination to understand whether it is the man's or the woman's problem.

How long is considered infertility?

Infertility is divided into infertility and sterility. Infertility refers to a couple of childbearing age who have lived together for more than one year, have normal sexual life, and have not taken any contraceptive measures but have failed to become pregnant. Infertility refers to the inability to have a viable baby due to miscarriage or stillbirth despite the ability to conceive. Infertility of a spouse due to male reasons is called male infertility or male sterility, commonly referred to as male infertility.

What are the causes of infertility?

1. Ovulatory dysfunction, manifested as no ovulation during the menstrual cycle, or although ovulation occurs, the corpus luteum function after ovulation is not sound;

2. Congenital malformation of reproductive organs or acquired genital organ lesions hinder the patency and function of the reproductive passage from the vulva to the fallopian tube, hindering the meeting of sperm and egg, leading to infertility;

3. Immunological factors refer to the presence of anti-sperm antibodies in the female reproductive tract or serum, which produce allogeneic anti-sperm immune responses, causing sperm to agglutinate, lose vitality or die, leading to infertility or sterility. In addition, some infertile women have antibodies to their own zona pellucida in their serum, which can prevent sperm from penetrating the egg and fertilizing it, and can also cause infertility;

4. Infertility caused by sexual dysfunction, lack of sexual knowledge, systemic diseases and unknown reasons accounts for about 1/3 of the causes of infertility.

The reason for not being able to conceive is not necessarily infertility. It may be that the bodies of both husband and wife are not suitable for the fertilized egg to implant, or that although the man is in good health, his sperm is weak and the chance of survival is very small, thus leading to infertility. Perhaps the woman's uterus is cold and not suitable for pregnancy, so if you take good care of your body, you can get pregnant.
