Progesterone 18

Progesterone 18

When women of childbearing age get married and become pregnant, the first feeling is surprise, as they are about to become mothers. The second feeling is happiness, as they are thinking about creating a baby in their belly. This feeling of happiness can only be felt by mothers. During pregnancy, you will have to undergo monthly prenatal checkups. Some women may have low progesterone levels during the checkups. Is it normal to have a progesterone level of 18 on the 40th day of pregnancy?

Is it normal to have a progesterone level of 18 on the 40th day of pregnancy?

Excessive progesterone secretion can cause poor decidual reaction during pregnancy, affect the implantation and development of the fertilized egg and embryo, and cause miscarriage. There are two sources of progesterone during pregnancy: one is produced by the corpus luteum of the ovary, and the other is secreted by the embryonic trophoblast. After 6-8 weeks of pregnancy, the progesterone level produced by the corpus luteum of the ovary gradually decreases, and is later replaced by the progesterone level produced by the embryo. If the two are unbalanced, miscarriage is likely to occur. The secretion of progesterone is closely related to miscarriage.

It is recommended to eat more fruits and vegetables, high-protein foods, and drink more water.

During pregnancy, the normal value of progesterone is 32.6-139.9 nmol/L during the 7th to 13th week of pregnancy, 62.0-262.4 nmol/L during the 14th to 37th week of pregnancy, and 206.7-728.2 nmol/L during the 30th to 42nd week of pregnancy.

It is normal for the progesterone level to be lower during the pregnancy. As long as there is no threat of miscarriage, there will be no adverse effects.

Generally speaking, with the change of pregnancy days, this progesterone level will continue to increase, so this value is lower in the early pregnancy, and if there is no vaginal bleeding or other signs of threatened miscarriage, it does not require treatment, and there will not be any adverse effects. Therefore, you can rest assured. In addition, regular maintenance will be provided to understand whether the baby's development is normal, especially when checking ultrasound in the second month of pregnancy, so that you can know whether there is a fetal heartbeat or fetal bud. If there is a fetal heartbeat or fetal bud, it is normal.
