Dietary considerations after hysteroscopy

Dietary considerations after hysteroscopy

Although hysteroscopy is a minimally invasive surgery, patients also need a certain amount of time to adjust their bodies after the operation, so they also need to pay attention to their diet after the operation. They cannot eat some spicy and irritating foods. If conditions permit, patients can take a bed rest for a period of time and then return to normal work and life. So what are the dietary precautions after hysteroscopy?

Hysteroscopy precautions

1. Reasonable diet structure. After hysteroscopy, the diet should be reasonable and nutritionally balanced, and the intake of spicy and irritating foods should be reduced.

2. Observe the urination situation, supervise, guide and assist the patient to urinate at an early stage. For those who really have difficulty urinating, induced urination can be performed, and catheterization can be given when necessary.

3. Guide patients to do appropriate exercise. Except for high-risk female patients, patients can be guided to do some turning over exercises in bed within 6 hours after surgery. After 6-8 hours, they can get out of bed and move around.

4. It is also important for patients to maintain a good mood or mentality. Try not to put too much pressure on yourself, otherwise it will not be of much help to the body.

5. Generally, when we feel unwell, we must go to the hospital for treatment in time, and we must maintain an optimistic mood and attitude.

Hysteroscopic surgery is a surgery used to observe, diagnose and treat the uterine cavity. Before the surgery, a cardiopulmonary examination, blood pressure and pulse measurement, routine vaginal discharge examination, and cervical scraping should be performed. The surgery is usually performed about 5 days after the menstrual period. Sexual intercourse should be prohibited for two weeks after the surgery. If necessary, antibiotics can be considered to prevent infection, treat the primary disease, and provide symptomatic treatment. After laparoscopic surgery, bed rest for one week is generally required. In your situation, it is recommended that you do not rush to go to work. Rest well for a while and then go back to work after you have recovered. Otherwise, it will not be worth it if you are left with sequelae. Generally, you should eat lighter food, such as more fresh vegetables or fruits, and do not drink alcohol or smoke.
