Is moderate erosion serious?

Is moderate erosion serious?

Moderate cervical erosion in women generally requires active treatment, while severe cervical erosion is a more serious gynecological disease. However, it is best to use medication under the guidance of a doctor, and never take medication blindly. In addition to active treatment of moderate cervical erosion, regular check-ups are also required every year. Good hygiene habits must be developed in daily life, and more attention should be paid to rest. A light diet is recommended, and it is best not to have sexual intercourse during treatment.

Clinical symptoms of moderate cervical erosion

1. Increased and thick vaginal discharge

Increased vaginal discharge is the main symptom of cervical erosion. In some cases, it is even the only symptom of the patient. It is mainly determined by the characteristics of the patient's condition. According to different pathogens, the scope and degree of erosion, there will be leucorrhea odor and increased vaginal discharge. The main manifestations of abnormal leucorrhea color are sticky white mucus or yellow purulent mucus. If the patient's condition is relatively serious, blood streaks or a small amount of blood may also be present.

2. Pain in the lower abdomen or lumbar region, dysmenorrhea

Lower abdominal or lumbosacral pain and dysmenorrhea are also common symptoms of cervical erosion. They are usually manifestations when the disease is relatively serious and are relatively rare. This is mainly because when the pathogens involve a deeper range, it can cause chronic parametrial connective tissue inflammation, lumbosacral pain, pelvic pain and dysmenorrhea.

3. Frequent urination, urgency, and pain when urinating

Frequent urination, urgent urination, and painful urination are also symptoms of cervical erosion. This is mainly because the inflammation of the cervix can spread or directly spread to the bladder triangle, which can cause urgent urination, frequent urination, and painful urination. They must be treated in time, because in some cases urinary tract infection may also occur, so you must be highly vigilant in this regard.

The harm of moderate cervical erosion

Causes complications

If cervical erosion is not treated in time or only some ineffective drugs are used, the inflammation of the cervix will not be cured for a long time, which will cause inflammation of other organs. For example, the pathogens of cervical erosion can ascend and cause cervical endometritis; it can spread through the parauterine ligaments and lymphatic vessels and cause chronic pelvic inflammatory disease.

Causes cervical lesions

Under the long-term stimulation of chronic inflammation, polyps, lacerations, eversions and cysts can occur. In addition, the incidence of cervical cancer in women with cervical erosion is significantly higher than that in those without cervical erosion. The incidence of cervical cancer in women with cervical erosion is 10 times higher than that in those without cervical erosion. Under the stimulation of long-term chronic inflammation, the columnar epithelium derived from the cervical hyperplasia may undergo atypical hyperplasia. If not treated in time, some of them will eventually develop into cancer, but this development and transformation process is relatively slow.

Cause infertility and miscarriage

The texture and amount of cervical mucus secretion are directly related to whether sperm can pass through the cervix and enter the uterine cavity. When cervical erosion occurs, especially moderate or severe cervical erosion, cervical secretions will increase significantly, become viscous, and contain a large number of white blood cells, which will have an adverse effect on sperm motility and hinder sperm from entering the uterine cavity, thus affecting conception. Even if conception occurs, cervical erosion can easily lead to miscarriage.
