Frequent urination during pregnancy is particularly severe

If frequent urination occurs on a normal basis, it can usually return to normal as long as the cause is found and resolved. However, if you have frequent urination during pregnancy, you will naturally be very worried about the impact on the normal pregnancy. Some pregnant women have particularly severe frequent urination during pregnancy, which can have a great impact on their normal life. So, why does frequent urination during pregnancy occur? Let’s take a look below.

From the first to the third month of pregnancy, the pregnant woman's uterus will gradually grow larger. The enlarged uterus will cause the positions of some organs in the pelvic cavity to change more or less, and the bladder will move upward.

As the fetus gradually develops, it will compress and stimulate the bladder. The bladder's endurance is squeezed from all sides, and the amount of urine stored will be less than that of normal people, so frequent urination occurs.

The frequent urination situation will improve somewhat in the second trimester, but it will still be the case in the third trimester. Because in the later stages of pregnancy, the fetus will slowly enter the pelvic cavity, the bladder will be under greater pressure, and the frequency of urination may become more severe than before. Some pregnant women may even experience urinary incontinence after delivery.

For pregnant women who have to go to the bathroom every five minutes, life during pregnancy is simply terrible. They cannot get a good rest at all. When they are about to fall asleep at night, they are disturbed by the urge to urinate. If it is winter, they have to go to the bathroom frequently on such a cold night, which can easily disturb their husbands' sleep and make pregnant women more likely to catch a cold.

Especially at night, in order to avoid going to the bathroom frequently, I have to resist drinking water, no matter how thirsty I am, and sometimes I even hold my urine. Especially if you need to go out, it is really inconvenient. It is a very wrong practice to hold urine. No matter you are an ordinary person or a pregnant woman, you should not hold urine. If you have urine, you must discharge it in time.

Frequent urination during the period is a very normal phenomenon. However, if you experience urinary pain, fever, back pain, or feel that you have a lot of urine each time but cannot urinate or only urinate a few drops, you should go to the hospital to consult a doctor and do not take any medicine at will.

If a pregnant woman has severe frequent urination, she should eat lighter foods. Foods that are too salty can make her thirsty. She should also eat less diuretic foods, such as winter melon, watermelon, kelp, etc.

You must also pay attention to private hygiene and change your underwear every day. If you feel uncomfortable after urinating, you must resolve it as soon as possible. Remember not to hold your urine.
