What to do if the fetus is too low

What to do if the fetus is too low

The position of the fetus after pregnancy will be different for each woman. Some pregnant women always feel that their stomachs are very low, which is related to uterine prolapse, and the fetal position will also be relatively low. This situation is still very dangerous. So what should I do if the fetal position is too low? A low fetal position generally indicates a larger uterus, which may be caused by an overweight or oversized fetus. It can also lead to an abnormal fetal position, making a natural birth difficult.

Low fetal position refers to the situation where the uterus is too large during pregnancy, resulting in an abnormal fetal position, which can easily lead to miscarriage. If you encounter the above situation, medical treatment can be used to correct the fetal position.

symptom

1. Abnormal fetal position confirmed by abdominal, vaginal and B-ultrasound examination after 28 weeks of pregnancy

2. Diagnosis of breech presentation: Abdominal examination shows that the uterus is longitudinally oval, and a round and hard fetal head that feels like a floating ball when pressed can be felt at the bottom of the uterus. A soft, wide, irregular fetal buttocks can be felt above the pubic symphysis. The fetal heartbeat is most clearly heard to the left or right side above the navel. B-ultrasound examination showed that the fetal head was below the rib margin. Above the pubic symphysis is the arm or the foot.

3. Diagnosis of transverse position: The uterus is transverse oval, the fetal head can be felt on one side of the mother's abdomen, and there is a relatively empty space above the pubic symphysis. The fetal heart sounds are clearest on both sides of the umbilicus. B-ultrasound examination shows that the fetal head is on one side of the mother's abdomen.

Prognosis and prevention

1. Transverse position should be performed by elective cesarean section. For breech delivery, cesarean section is usually performed for primiparas; for multiparas with a small fetus and a large enough pelvis, vaginal delivery can be considered.

2. If the transverse position is not treated in time, it may lead to umbilical cord prolapse, intrauterine fetal death, and even the risk of uterine rupture.

3. In breech presentation, there is a possibility of umbilical cord prolapse after water rupture, and there is a risk of the head coming out backward during delivery, which may cause intrauterine asphyxia or even death of the fetus.

4. Carry out prenatal examinations, diagnose malposition of the fetus in advance, and provide timely treatment. If the fetus has not turned into a head position, choose the delivery method first and be hospitalized in advance. It can prevent malposition of the fetus during delivery and avoid the serious consequences caused by malposition of the fetus.

It is recommended that, depending on the actual situation, if you are worried about affecting the fetus or the position is not good, you can choose a cesarean section. You need to rest well and move less. Pay more attention when your due date is approaching so that you can give birth faster. During pregnancy, you must keep a happy mood, exercise appropriately and avoid fatigue. Pay attention to a balanced diet and have regular prenatal checkups.

a. Women with the disease should not sit or lie for long periods of time. They should increase gentle activities such as walking, massaging the abdomen, and turning the waist.

b. Malposition of the fetus is common and can be completely corrected. Pregnant women need not be anxious or depressed.
