Inner thigh pain during pregnancy

Inner thigh pain during pregnancy

The fifth month of pregnancy is a time when the fetus develops rapidly and the pregnant woman gains weight rapidly, so some minor problems in many parts of the body will gradually manifest themselves, such as pain in the inner thigh. This kind of pain is somewhat similar to ligament sprain. This is because the increase of progesterone will cause the ligament to relax, that is, at the place where the thigh root connects to the abdomen, there is a pubic joint. It is also because the gap in it is forced to increase that pregnant women feel pain on the inner thigh.

Thigh pain in the middle of pregnancy is a problem that occurs in the middle of pregnancy. The above symptoms may be related to your lack of activity in daily life, or it may be caused by calcium deficiency. You should still be cautious during the above period. It is best to supplement calcium appropriately to regulate your body, which is good for both you and your baby. You should not exercise excessively and don't need to be too nervous. Due to the changes in hormone levels after pregnancy, especially the increase in progesterone, the ligaments will become loose, causing pain, and some may also cause pain in other parts of the body such as the buttocks. It is recommended that you do not be too nervous and pay attention to rest. It is recommended to eat more foods high in calcium to relieve symptoms, eat more fresh vegetables and fruits, and avoid having sex, because having sex may aggravate the pain.

It is estimated that there is mild pubic arch separation, which is a normal phenomenon during pregnancy. It is recommended that pregnant women go to the hospital for regular prenatal check-ups, and pay attention to keeping warm in the morning and evening and eating a balanced diet of meat and vegetables, and eat more blood-enriching ingredients. Do Down syndrome screening at 16-20 weeks of pregnancy and do systematic, three-dimensional or four-dimensional B-ultrasound at 20-24 weeks of pregnancy to check whether the fetus has any malformations. If the pain is mild, it is recommended that you take a rest, avoid overwork, and apply massage and hot compress. X-rays cannot be done during pregnancy, so physical therapy is used to relieve symptoms. During the first three months of pregnancy, women should take folic acid and avoid sexual intercourse. To ensure the health of mother and baby, regular prenatal check-ups should be performed.

What to do if pregnant women have pain in the inner thigh

1. When pregnant women have pain on the inner thigh, they can put an ice pack on the pubic bone to relieve the pain.

2. If the expectant mother's physical condition allows, she can reduce the pressure on the joints by swimming, but she should try to avoid breaststroke.

3. Avoid sitting astride. If you are a working mother who sits in the office every day, you need to place a lumbar pillow behind your back.

4. When standing, your legs should be symmetrical. Avoid movements that keep your legs apart for a long time, and use small movements.

5. Place a small pillow between your legs when sleeping. When turning over in bed, move your feet and hips as slowly and as parallel as possible.

6. You should usually wear flat shoes with soft and comfortable soles, and avoid wearing hard-soled shoes with heels to prevent unstable center of gravity and increased pain.

7. Avoid lifting heavy objects. Expectant mothers with pubic pain should carry less heavy objects. If necessary, using a backpack will be more comfortable.

8. If the pregnant woman is experiencing severe pain, she can use an elastic band to bind the pelvis to reduce pressure on the pelvis. However, it must be used under the guidance of a doctor to avoid affecting the baby's development. The tightness of the band should be based on what the pelvis can tolerate, while not seriously affecting the venous return of the lower limbs.
