What is tubal contraception?

Fallopian tube sterilization is a type of ligation surgery, which is a minimally invasive surgery. It does not have too many side effects or harm to the body. It is usually performed through a ligation rope or a ligation clamp. Women need to keep a calm mind and maintain a happy mood when undergoing fallopian tube sterilization. It will not harm their health. After ligation, they only need to rest for a few days before they can live a normal life, and it will cause less harm to the body.

Fallopian tube contraception

Tubal ligation is a very minor operation. Your health will not be affected after the procedure. The ligation is done by making a small incision in the lower abdomen to remove the fallopian tube, which is then cut at the isthmus and tied or clamped. The best ligation method is the heart extraction and embedding method, which causes less tissue trauma and has a high success rate. The Boy's method and drug blocking method used in the past cause great tissue trauma. If a fallopian tube anastomosis and recanalization operation is required, the recanalization rate is very low, so this type of ligation operation is no longer performed.

Not suitable for people

(1) Acute phase of various diseases, such as heart failure, shock, stroke, etc.;

(2) Acute infection, such as acute pelvic inflammatory disease;

(3) Patients with severe anemia and other systemic conditions that make them unable to tolerate surgery;

(4) Patients with neurosis or those who are unable to resolve their concerns about surgery;

(5) Those whose body temperature is above 37.5°C for two consecutive times within 24 hours.

Preoperative

(1) Preoperative preparation should be done well:

① The person receiving the female piercing surgery should be in a good mood and eliminate any worries.

② Wash the abdomen with warm water and keep it clean to facilitate surgery and reduce the chance of postoperative infection.

③ Do not eat or drink within 4 hours before the operation to avoid vomiting caused by traction and stimulation of internal organs during the operation.

④ You should empty your bladder before going to the operating table to facilitate the surgical operation.

(2) The best time to perform ligation is:

①Within 3-7 days after menstruation ends.

② After mid-term induced labor and curettage, artificial abortion, and IUD removal, ligation surgery can be performed immediately (or within one or two days).

③Ligation can be performed at the same time as cesarean section or other gynecological surgery.

④ For normal delivery, ligation surgery can be performed on the first day after delivery. For those with difficult delivery or infection during delivery, the patient should be hospitalized for observation for 3 days without any abnormalities before undergoing surgery. For those who have not changed their menstruation during breastfeeding, diagnostic curettage should be performed before ligation.

After surgery

After ligation, you should rest in bed for 6 hours and get out of bed and move around as soon as possible, keeping your waist straight. This will not injure the incision and ligation site, and can also prevent adhesion of abdominal organs to the incision, thus promoting early recovery of the body. The stitches can be removed 3 days after the operation. Avoid doing heavy work within one month. There are generally no complications from female ligation. If you feel discomfort in the lower abdomen or pain at the incision within one month, go to the surgery unit to see a doctor to see if there is any abnormality.
