Six months pregnant, uncomfortable sleeping

Six months pregnant, uncomfortable sleeping

Pregnancy is a very happy event for every family. When you are pregnant, everyone is very cautious and worried that the baby may have some abnormalities. Some people’s sleep is affected when they are six months pregnant. Some even cannot sleep and feel uncomfortable no matter how they sleep. In fact, when the belly is bigger, it will affect sleep. So, what should I do if I am expected to have uncomfortable sleeping for six months? As long as you pay attention to your sleeping posture, you can improve the phenomenon of uncomfortable sleeping.

How to sleep comfortably when you are six months pregnant

1. Mid-pregnancy (4-7 months): During this period, you should pay attention to protecting your abdomen and avoid direct external force.

2. If the pregnant woman has too much amniotic fluid or is pregnant with twins, she should sleep in the side-lying position, which can make the pregnant woman feel more comfortable. Other sleeping positions will cause compression symptoms.

3. If the pregnant woman feels heavy in her lower limbs, she can lie on her back and slightly raise her lower limbs with a soft pillow.

4. Some pregnant women cannot lie on their backs after five or six months of pregnancy. Once they do, they will feel dizzy, have palpitations, sweat, feel nausea and vomit, have low blood pressure, and even collapse and coma. At this time, they should lie on their left side.

How to sleep comfortably after six months of pregnancy

1. Late pregnancy (8-10 months): The lying position is particularly important during this period. Lying on the left side can correct the right rotation of the enlarged uterus, reduce the pressure of the uterus on the abdominal aorta and iliac arteries, improve blood circulation, increase blood supply to the fetus, and is beneficial to the growth and development of the fetus.

2. It is not advisable to adopt the supine position. In the supine position, the huge uterus compresses the inferior vena cava, reducing the amount of blood returning to the heart and cardiac output, and causing hypotension. Pregnant women will feel dizzy, palpitations, nausea, shortness of breath and other symptoms, and their faces may become pale, their limbs may become weak, and they may break out in cold sweats. If the above symptoms occur, you should immediately lie on your left side. Your blood pressure will gradually return to normal and the symptoms will disappear.

It is very common for pregnant women to have difficulty sleeping. In addition to pregnancy reasons, it is also because they cannot master their sleeping posture. Pregnant mothers don’t need to worry too much. They can relax and consult a doctor or read authoritative books to find a suitable sleeping position. Pregnant mothers need to get enough sleep to ensure their own health and the health of their baby.
