Endometrial thickness 13mm uneven echo

Endometrial thickness 13mm uneven echo

To judge whether the thickness of the uterine wall is normal, it is necessary to make a comprehensive judgment based on the actual endometrial thickness value and the stage of the menstrual period when the patient is examined. Women's menstruation is caused by the shedding of the uterine wall. Before the menarche, the uterine wall is thickened by the influence of female hormones. Therefore, at this stage, it is normal for the endometrial thickness to be between 10mm-15mm.

After the menstrual period is over, the uterine wall falls off completely, and the thickness is also the smallest stage in the entire menstrual cycle. At this time, the thickness of the endometrium during menstruation should be between 5mm and 8mm. If it exceeds the above range, it may indicate problems with the endometrium. In addition, the thickness of the uterine wall should be checked before and after the menstrual period as much as possible, and avoid checking during the menstrual period. During the menstrual period, the endometrium falls off, causing uneven echoes in the uterine cavity, making it difficult to accurately observe the thickness of the endometrium.

The thickness of the uterine wall is not a fixed value, it may change with the changes in the menstrual cycle. The thickness of the endometrium is different at different stages of the menstrual cycle. The current endometrial thickness is 13mm, which is the thickness of the endometrium before menarche. If during ovulation, the thickness of the endometrium is normally between 9-11mm, which is more suitable, it is conducive to the implantation and embedding of the embryo combined with sperm and egg. If the endometrium is too thin or too thick, it will affect the implantation and embedding of the embryo combined with sperm and egg. After the menstrual period is over, the thickness of the endometrium is relatively thin, generally between 2-4mm. Therefore, whether the thickness of the endometrium is normal needs to be comprehensively analyzed in combination with the physiological cycle. Before menarche, the normal endometrial thickness is between 12-15mm.

Generally speaking, the thickness of the endometrium is less than 10mm, but from the beginning of puberty to before menopause, the thickness of the endometrium changes continuously with the menstrual cycle. This is a continuous changing process.

During a woman's menstrual cycle, as the uterus and ovaries undergo regular changes, the uterine wall also undergoes a series of regular changes under the influence of female hormones secreted by the uterus and ovaries. When the uterus is developing and maturing in the ovaries, under the action of estrogen secreted by the ovaries, the epithelial cells and stromal cells of the uterine wall show proliferation, which is called the proliferative period. The thickness of the endometrium is 1-3mm, which occurs on the 5th to 14th day of the menstrual cycle. After ovulation, the corpus luteum of the ovary is produced. Under the synergistic effect of estrogen and progesterone, the uterine wall shows metabolic reactions, which is called the metabolic period. This stage occurs on the 15th to 28th day of the menstrual cycle, and the endometrium is 5-10mm thick. If the egg is not fertilized, the corpus luteum of the ovary declines, the levels of estrogen and progesterone decrease, the uterine wall loses the supporting effect of estrogen, and tissue degeneration, necrosis and exfoliation occur. The necrotic uterine wall mixes with blood and is discharged. At this time, menstruation begins, and only the dermis of the uterine wall is preserved during the menstrual period.
