Bleeding at 40 days of pregnancy

Bleeding at 40 days of pregnancy

Pregnancy is a process that most women will go through. During pregnancy, for the healthy growth of the child, pregnant women should always pay attention to their physical condition and diet. Especially in the first three months and last three months of pregnancy, the embryo has not yet fully developed. If you do not pay attention to daily safety, symptoms such as miscarriage are often likely to occur. So what should a pregnant woman do if bleeding comes out of her lower body when she is 40 days pregnant?

In the early stages of pregnancy, embryo implantation is unstable, when the mother suffers from chronic diseases or congenital or acquired uterine developmental abnormalities, immune system problems, or viral infections.

Alternatively, miscarriage may occur due to overwork, excessive stress, intense sexual activity, external impact, improper use of medication, etc. When a mother has a miscarriage, vaginal bleeding symptoms may occur.

Statistics show that more than 50% of pregnant women can safely get through the early pregnancy bleeding and successfully continue their pregnancy; about 30% of pregnant women may experience miscarriage; and nearly 10% of pregnant women may have ectopic pregnancy or other problems. Half of early miscarriages are caused by abnormalities in the embryo itself. If the pregnancy can continue after bleeding in early pregnancy, the fetus will generally develop normally. There are three main reasons for bleeding in early pregnancy:

1. Cervical lesions

If a pregnant woman has cervical lesions before pregnancy, resulting in erosion, or already has cervical polyps, then after pregnancy, it is very likely that the surface capillaries will rupture and bleed due to hormonal changes. Therefore, when a pregnant woman has symptoms of vaginal bleeding in the early stages of pregnancy, a cervical examination should be performed.

2. Ectopic pregnancy

Ectopic pregnancy can also cause bleeding in early pregnancy because the fertilized egg implants outside the uterus and cannot provide the embryo with sufficient nutrients, causing the gradually developing fertilized egg to expand the fallopian tube wall and cause the tube wall to rupture. Bleeding caused by ectopic pregnancy usually occurs between 7 and 8 weeks of pregnancy, accompanied by severe abdominal pain or massive intra-abdominal bleeding.

3. Hydatidiform mole

Pregnant women with hydatidiform mole may also experience pregnancy bleeding, accompanied by severe morning sickness or palpitations. Women who are younger than 20 or older than 35, who have a history of miscarriage or hydatidiform mole, etc. should be careful about whether they may get pregnant with hydatidiform mole again.

Symptoms of bleeding in early pregnancy

The main symptom of bleeding in early pregnancy is a small amount of bloody vaginal discharge, similar to the amount of bleeding at the beginning or end of menstruation. The bleeding may be pink, red, or brown in color. The bleeding symptoms of miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, and hydatidiform mole are different.

1. Bleeding pattern

If you experience vaginal bleeding or lower abdominal pain before 12 weeks of pregnancy, be careful about miscarriage. If the blood is brown, expectant mothers do not need to worry too much. Brown blood means that the bleeding has stopped, so it will oxidize into brown. Just get more rest and avoid exercise. If the blood is bright red, you should seek medical attention in time. Bleeding caused by ectopic pregnancy usually results in a small amount of vaginal bleeding, and severe cases may result in intra-abdominal bleeding. Bleeding caused by hydatidiform mole can be more or less, but if it is not discovered early, it may cause heavy bleeding.

2. Pain

Most expectant mothers who suspect they have had early miscarriage will experience back pain and lower abdominal pain similar to menstruation. Most mothers with ectopic pregnancy will experience severe abdominal pain, pale face, rapid heartbeat and intra-abdominal bleeding; ectopic pregnancy can cause abdominal pain, pale face, rapid heartbeat; hydatidiform mole causes bleeding and can cause severe lower abdominal dull pain.

Effects of bleeding in early pregnancy

There are many reasons why pregnant women may experience bleeding in early pregnancy, and the effects they produce are also different. Bleeding caused by maternal conditions, such as uterine disease or progesterone deficiency, may lead to miscarriage.

Bleeding caused by problems with the embryo itself may lead to miscarriage. More than half of miscarriages are caused by abnormalities in the embryo itself. This is a form of natural selection. If the pregnancy can continue, the fetus is generally normal. Generally speaking, for pregnant women who experience bleeding in early pregnancy, if they can continue their pregnancy and give birth after the bleeding, the proportion of fetuses with congenital abnormalities does not increase.
