Can I get the nine-valent vaccine after getting the four-valent vaccine?

Can I get the nine-valent vaccine after getting the four-valent vaccine?

HPV vaccine, also known as cervical cancer vaccine, can prevent female human papillomavirus infection. Normal women are prone to HPV infection during sexual intercourse, and the incidence of this disease is relatively high. HPV infection in women can be eliminated in a short period of time, and only a small number of women will develop symptoms. So, after getting the quadrivalent HPV vaccine, can I get the nine-valent vaccine?

After getting the quadrivalent HPV vaccine, you can get the nine-valent vaccine, but you need to pay attention to the interval between injections, and it will be more expensive to get the nine-valent vaccine at this time. This is because the quadrivalent HPV vaccine has a preventive effect on high-risk HPV16 and 18, and also has a preventive effect on low-risk HPV6 and 11.

There are only a few types of HPV that commonly cause cervical cancer and genital warts, such as HPV6, HPV11, HPV16, HPV18, etc. You don't need to get the nine-valent vaccine, but you can still get the nine-valent vaccine because the nine-valent vaccine covers more HPV types and can prevent many HPVs.

Adults, men or women can get the HPV vaccine. People who do not have cervical cancer or cervical precancerous lesions can also get the HPV vaccine. Women who are planning to become pregnant or breastfeeding cannot receive the HPV vaccine.

No vaccine can provide 100% protection. In other words, even after getting the vaccine, you still need to conduct regular cervical cancer screening according to basic screening. The quadrivalent vaccine for cervical cancer can prevent infection by four types of HPV: 6, 11, 16, and 18, while the nine-valent vaccine can prevent infection by nine types of HPV: 6, 11, 16, 18, 31, 33, 45, 52, and 58.

The HPV 4-valent vaccine can prevent 70% of cervical cancer, so there is no need to get the 9-valent vaccine if you have already received the quadrivalent vaccine. If you must insist on getting the HPV vaccine again, you must wait a year before getting the vaccine.
