Are there any side effects of having an arm ring?

Putting an IUD on the arm is also a method of contraception. Although in the eyes of most women, IUD mainly refers to uterine IUD, in fact, with the development of modern medical technology, it is becoming more and more widely used on the arm. Moreover, compared with the uterine IUD, the arm IUD has less impact on the human body, but its success rate is not as high as that of the uterine IUD, so many women still get pregnant after having the arm IUD inserted. But if I put the arm ring on, will there be any side effects?

The arm ring is also called a subcutaneous implant. The subcutaneous contraceptive implant method involves making a 2mm incision on the arm of a woman of childbearing age and inserting a rice-sized silicone capsule of 18-methylnorhenothinyl ether. The drug is slowly released, maintaining a low but contraceptive concentration in the blood, thus achieving a 5-year contraceptive effect.

Subcutaneous contraceptive implant is a new contraceptive method that is currently being promoted and used throughout the world. This contraceptive method is to put a certain dose of progesterone in a silicon capsule tube, and then bury the tube under the skin, so that it slowly releases a small amount of progesterone, thereby playing a contraceptive role.

What are the side effects of implants? The biggest side effect can cause menstrual disorders and irregular vaginal bleeding, which is relatively common. It can also cause certain irritation to the breasts, and the probability of causing breast hyperplasia, breast fibroids, and breast nodules is relatively high.

Women with uterine fibroids are not suitable for implantation. There are also other diseases that are not suitable for intradermal implants, such as hepatitis, nephritis, jaundice, pruritus, endocrine hormone imbalance, diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, precancerous lesions of the reproductive organs, and irregular vaginal bleeding. These are not suitable for intradermal implants. Therefore, if you want to have a skin implant, you need to consider going to the hospital for a check-up. Only if you are suitable for a skin implant, you can have the implant done under the guidance of a doctor.
