What to do if your vulva is itchy during breastfeeding

During the lactation period, women have relatively poor physical condition because they need to breastfeed. If they do not pay attention to the care of their private parts at this time, it is easy to be invaded by diseases. This is also an important cause of vaginitis in women. If this happens, you must pay attention to the care of your private parts and clean them in time. You must be careful when taking medication and not use it at will. You must seek treatment under the guidance of a doctor.

What to do if your vulva is itchy during breastfeeding

1. Female friends should try their best to eliminate local or systemic factors that cause itching. If there is a spouse, they should also be treated at the same time to avoid cross infection and recurrent illness. Do not abuse antipruritic drugs and should be treated under the guidance of a doctor.

2. Avoid misusing or abusing drugs, and avoid scratching or local friction.

3. Female friends should pay attention to keeping the vulva clean and dry, do not wash it with hot water or soap; pay attention to menstrual hygiene, change sanitary napkins frequently during menstruation, and wash frequently.

4. See a doctor to check whether there is fungus or trichomonas. If so, seek timely treatment instead of using "anti-itching water" to treat it yourself.

5. Female friends had better not wear tight crotch pants. The underwear should be loose, breathable and preferably made of cotton. This is very beneficial for patients with vulvar itching and can also play a preventive role.

6. If there is local damage or infection, you can use 1:5000 potassium permanganate solution (add a small amount of potassium permanganate powder to warm water to make it light red, not too concentrated) to soak and wash twice a day, each time for 20 to 30 minutes.

7. Female friends should also pay attention to adjusting their diet, eat more high-protein, high-vitamin foods, and be careful not to drink alcohol, eat spicy food, eat seafood, or take medicines that are prone to cause allergies.

2. Acute and chronic vulvar eczema: The vulva is extremely itchy, the local skin turns red, the blisters are clustered into pieces, and yellow water is dripping, often accompanied by erosion, scabs, suppuration and other symptoms.

3. Vaginal trichomoniasis: Symptoms include itching of the vulva and vagina, foamy leucorrhea, often accompanied by a special odor, and eczematous changes in the vulva after scratching. A vaginal smear test can be used to distinguish it from other diseases.

4. Vulvar leukoplakia: also known as vulvar leukoplakia, it causes itching of the vulva, sometimes with burning and pain. The vulva skin is rough, lichenified, scratched, and even slightly atrophied; there is local hypopigmentation, and the labia majora and labia minora generally turn white.

5. Sexually transmitted virus infection: genital warts, genital herpes. Molluscum contagiosum occurring in the vulva is often manifested as a round papule with an umbilical depression in the center, which can cause itching in the vulva and vagina.
