If they are suffering from a cold, it is best not to do this amniocentesis, because a cold will cause the physical condition of pregnant women to deteriorate. If a puncture examination is performed, it may cause infection. Of course, if you have an amniocentesis for a mild cold, you must emphasize nutrition, keep warm, and get enough rest to avoid adverse situations.

Amniocentesis is a very important examination. Although not every pregnant mother needs to undergo it, it should be taken very seriously. Pregnant mothers need to pay attention to rest before and after amniocentesis to reduce the risk. So what should you pay attention to after amniocentesis?

Do not do strenuous exercise within three days, and rest in bed more. There are no special requirements as for diet, but you should eat less spicy food. There is no need to take special care of the wound. You can tear off the tape when you take a shower on the same night. If you experience worsening abdominal pain or vaginal bleeding, go to the hospital immediately. Don't worry too much, just pay attention to the fetal movement and there will be no problem.

After the puncture, you need to pay more attention to rest to avoid miscarriage. It is best to rest in bed, not have sex, not walk too much, and not overwork. Generally, there is no need for excessive supplements.

1. You must sit and rest for at least 2 hours after the operation before you can go home. For out-of-town patients, it is best for them to rest in a hotel near the hospital that night and go home the next day to avoid excessive fatigue after the operation.

2. You cannot take a bath within 24 hours after the operation. Make sure to get more rest and avoid strenuous exercise and physical labor such as lifting heavy objects.

3. Sexual intercourse is prohibited for half a month after the operation.

4. If you experience abdominal pain, abdominal distension, vaginal discharge, bleeding, fever, etc. within three days after the operation, you should go to the obstetrics and gynecology department of the hospital as soon as possible.

Amniocentesis is a prenatal diagnostic method in which a very small amount of amniotic fluid is collected and analyzed after puncturing the amniotic cavity. It is usually used as an auxiliary examination for Down syndrome screening and the determination of certain genetic diseases. During the 17th to 21st week of pregnancy, the living cells in the amniotic fluid reach 30%. At this time, it is most suitable to use a puncture needle to pierce the abdominal wall of the expectant mother into the uterine cavity, aspirate about 20ml of amniotic fluid sample, and then obtain the chromosome karyotype through 7-14 days of amniotic fluid culture. After observation and analysis, whether the chromosomes will be deformed, the risk value of whether the fetus is a Down syndrome baby can be determined.
