Will frequently tying your hair cause hair loss?

Will frequently tying your hair cause hair loss?

There is actually a certain relationship between tying your hair and hair loss. If you wear a ponytail for a long time, it will cause local hair loss. If the hair loss is severe, you can change your hairstyle more often. Generally, if you have just finished taking a shower, don't rush to tie your hair, and don't tie your hair too tightly. Eat more beef, fish and other foods, which will help alleviate the phenomenon of hair loss.

Hair loss caused by ponytailing belongs to the type of "traction alopecia", which is mainly caused by long-term traction. Its occurrence is related to the patient tying his hair into a certain hairstyle. Tying a ponytail is one of them. The areas where hair loss occurs mainly above the forehead and on the temples.

Of course, there are many reasons for female hair loss, and wearing a ponytail is only one of the reasons for hair loss for some people. In fact, hair loss in many professional women in life is also related to male hormones. In addition to genetic factors, this is also closely related to work pressure. Foreign scholars believe that working women often have more male hormones in their blood than housewives. Just as dangerous situations fill the body with adrenaline, competitive workplace stress increases the amount of male hormones in the blood.

This male hormone is related to emotional excitement and mental stress. Too much male hormone can cause male pattern baldness in women, in which the hair becomes thinner. Mental stress can affect the hair follicles, muscles, nerves and skin, causing the micro-capillaries that supply nutrients to the hair follicles to contract, thus limiting the amount of oxygen and nutrients reaching the hair. Under long-term and continuous mental stress, the contraction of the arrector pili muscles and the blood vessels that supply oxygen and nutrients will cause hair loss. Mental stress can also affect the sebaceous glands, causing them to increase oil secretion.

During menopause, women's hormone balance is disrupted, and their hair follicles receive conflicting signals from the hormonal chaos. For many women, as their ovaries cease to function, the hormone balance temporarily shifts to a higher level of androgens, causing a type of hair loss similar to male pattern baldness. This is also one of the causes of hair loss in women.

Of course, there are many other reasons for female hair loss. It does not mean that tying a ponytail will cause hair loss, nor does it mean that women with hair loss problems cannot tie a ponytail. We should take good care of our hair in our daily life, try to pull our hair as much as possible, and when braiding our hair, we should also be careful not to pull it too tight or tie it for too long, so as to minimize damage to the hair.
