Are the six hormone tests just a blood test?

The six hormones generally refer to the six sex hormones, including estrogen, testosterone (also known as androgen), lactogen, follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) secreted by the pituitary gland, and progesterone. These hormones are very important tests in the overall hormonal function assessment of women, especially men. The measurement must be based on a blood test. There are many other growth hormone metabolites that can be measured by urine testing, but the test results of the comprehensive growth hormone level of the six sex hormones must be based on a blood test.

Under normal circumstances, the purpose of measuring six sex hormones is to assess the quality of the ovaries and whether the hormones are matched. It is recommended to draw blood for testing. It is best to draw blood for testing on the 2nd to 4th day of the menstrual period. You can eat or fast, and it will not affect the results much.

The six female sex hormones are generally measured through blood cells, including follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), progesterone (P), testosterone (T), and prolactin (PRL). Under normal circumstances, according to the detection of estrogen at different time ranges of the menstrual cycle, it can be divided into the follicular phase, ovulation phase and follicular phase. 1. Follicular phase: It is tested on the 2nd to 5th day of the menstrual cycle, which can reflect the basic level of the uterus and ovaries; 2. Ovulation phase is measured on the 16th to 17th day of the menstrual cycle, and combined with B-ultrasound, it can grasp the development of the uterus; 3. Follicular phase, measured on the 21st to 22nd day of the menstrual cycle, to grasp corpus luteum insufficiency.

The six-item hormone test is just a test done by blood test, which is mainly used to check women's endocrine imbalance and ovarian function. The best time to check is within 2-4 days after menarche, because at this stage, the menstrual period has just ended and the egg is in the early stage, which can reflect the basic function of the uterus and ovaries as soon as possible. However, if you are a patient with irregular menstruation, a woman who has not had menstruation for a long time, or a woman undergoing infertility testing, you can have a blood test at any time.

Women should pay attention to checking six hormone levels. Not only should they check them 2-4 days after the menarche, but they should also have blood drawn on an empty stomach at 9-11 in the morning, which is more accurate. Testing within this time range is generally more accurate. In addition, do not do strenuous exercise before the examination.
