How to treat Trichomonas vaginitis?

Women's vaginas are exposed, which is one of the reasons why many women should pay attention to keeping their vaginas clean. Although you are wearing underwear, it is sometimes more likely to breed bacteria, especially if you don’t wipe it clean after urinating, which will provide a breeding ground for bacteria and viruses. Clinically, there are many types of vaginitis, such as Trichomonas vaginitis and so on. So, how to treat Trichomonas vaginitis?

Trichomonas vaginitis is a common gynecological disease caused by Trichomonas vaginalis. There are generally two ways of transmission, namely direct transmission through sexual intercourse and indirect transmission. Indirect transmission is mainly through baths, bathtubs, bath towels, swimming pools, toilets, and contaminated clothing and equipment. The main symptoms are increased leucorrhea, which is yellow-green purulent and foamy with a foul odor, itching and pain in the vulva and vagina, and lower abdominal pain. If there is also a urinary tract Trichomonas infection, there may be symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency, and pain when urinating. Some people have no obvious symptoms and are only discovered during gynecological examinations. Treatment is divided into local treatment and systemic medication.

For local treatment, flush the vagina with 0.5% - 1% lactic acid or acetic acid solution, then insert 1 tablet of Diweijing, once a night for 10 days. The systemic medication is oral metronidazole, 200 mg each time, 3 times a day, for a total of 7 days.

The recurrence rate of Trichomonas vaginitis is extremely high, mainly because Trichomonas hides in the vaginal folds and adjacent organs. It can often recur before and after the menstrual period due to suitable growth conditions. To prevent this situation, follow-up is necessary, that is, re-examination after each menstruation within 3 months after cure. Even if the result is negative, local treatment should still be given 1-2 times to consolidate the therapeutic effect. In addition, because Trichomonas has strong vitality and is highly contagious, the underwear, underpants and towels of Trichomonas patients should be boiled for 5-10 minutes to kill Trichomonas. Trichomonas hidden in the male urethra and prostate is often an important factor in recurrence in women, so the patient's husband's urine and prostatic fluid should be routinely examined and treated at the same time.
