Is it normal to have a temperature drop during early pregnancy?

It is very common for women to develop some diseases in the early stages of pregnancy, because their lifestyle will also change in the early stages of pregnancy. In this process, many factors will cause some diseases. Some women have a drop in body temperature in the early stages of pregnancy, and they don’t know whether this is normal. So, is it normal for the body temperature to drop during early pregnancy?

First, is it normal for body temperature to drop in early pregnancy? What changes will occur in body temperature in early pregnancy? Under normal circumstances, a woman's body temperature will rise in the early stages of pregnancy, about 37.5℃-38℃. This is because progesterone has a warming effect. From the 13th week of pregnancy, it will return to normal. But if you feel uncomfortable when you have a fever, it is best to go to the hospital for a check-up. If you are pregnant, your basal body temperature will not drop but remain at a high temperature. The reason why your body temperature remains high is that the amount of hormones secreted by the ovaries increases after pregnancy. However, women with poor ovarian function or fever caused by a cold will affect the basal body temperature curve, so the accuracy is not 100%. If the basal body temperature rises and the menstruation is not due, and the basal body temperature continues to not drop for as long as 16 days, the possibility of conception is greater. However, other factors that may cause increased basal body temperature in early pregnancy, such as systemic infectious diseases, need to be ruled out.

Second, the reason for the drop in body temperature in the early stages of pregnancy: the basal body temperature curve gradually decreases in the early stages of pregnancy, indicating insufficient corpus luteum function or poor placental function, and a tendency to miscarriage. When the fertilized egg implants, its temperature will drop. For most people, the implantation of the fertilized egg means the first successful step towards pregnancy. Implantation cooling is based on the ability to accurately measure basal body temperature. Basal body temperature is the comparison between your low temperature and high temperature. As long as the difference between high and low temperature is more than 0.3~0.5 degrees, it is normal. According to the basal body temperature curve, pregnant women can make several relatively correct judgments. When the temperature transitions from low temperature to high temperature, an extremely low temperature will appear. This extremely low temperature is often the ovulation day. Because when the follicle ruptures, estrogen will drop sharply, and the drop in estrogen will also affect body temperature. Once in the high-temperature zone, the life span of the corpus luteum is 14 days, so the high-temperature period will always be maintained for about 12 days. When it is found that between the 6th and 10th days after ovulation, the body temperature suddenly drops one day, and then rises significantly on the second day, this sudden low temperature is the implantation cooling. Therefore, if your body temperature drops in the early stages of pregnancy, you should go to the hospital for diagnosis in time.

Is it normal for body temperature to drop in early pregnancy? In the early stages of pregnancy, pregnant women may experience symptoms such as breast swelling, frequent urination, mild vaginal bleeding, and may also experience nausea, headache, dizziness, and emotional instability. If you find the above symptoms, you should take an early pregnancy test in time because you are very likely pregnant. Breast enlargement A week or two after conception, your breasts will become extra tender. This is because in the early stages of pregnancy, due to pregnancy stimulation, the pregnant woman's body will produce a lot of estrogen and progesterone, causing the glands in the breasts to begin to grow. These hormones cause your breasts to retain more fluid, so they may feel heavier and soreer than before. Slight vaginal bleeding The fertilized egg will implant in the uterus within 6-12 days after conception, which may cause slight vaginal bleeding in pregnant women. If this happens, pregnant women do not need to worry if the vaginal bleeding is mild and there are no serious discomfort symptoms. This is a normal physiological reaction when the fertilized egg implants and is harmless to the human body. Implantation bleeding of the fertilized egg manifests as a small amount of blood or blood spots, which can be seen several times a day. The bleeding lasts for about three days, and there is no discomfort during menstruation. Implantation bleeding of the fertilized egg needs to be distinguished from menstruation to prevent pregnant women from being pregnant without knowing it.
