Does ovulation mean you are not pregnant?

After a woman becomes pregnant, it is less likely for her to ovulate and she no longer has a menstrual period. If there is ovulation and regular menstrual cycles, it means that pregnancy has not occurred. If pregnancy occurs, there will be no ovulation and no menstrual period. Under normal circumstances, you can use early pregnancy test strips to test or go to the hospital for a blood HCG test to see if you are actually pregnant.

What are the methods for detecting early pregnancy?

1. Early pregnancy test paper test

The advent of early pregnancy test strips has brought great convenience to the diagnosis of early pregnancy. Under normal circumstances, place urine in the test hole on the test paper. If a significant printed color band appears in the test area, it indicates pregnancy.

2. Pregnancy test

The early pregnancy test is performed by a professional technician in the hospital's laboratory department using a testing instrument to collect a urine sample from the patient for testing. If hcg gonadotropin is detected in the urine, it is normal and indicates pregnancy.

3. Temperature measurement during ovulation

It is the easiest and simplest way. Measure your body temperature in bed after waking up every morning. The body temperature at this time is called ovulation temperature. Generally, the human body temperature is below 36.5 degrees before ovulation. After ovulation, estrogen increases, acting on the human body's temperature nerve center, causing the body temperature to rise by 0.3-0.5 degrees. If you are pregnant, the estrogen level will remain high and will not change, which will also keep the body temperature high. If the high temperature curve of ovulation temperature lasts for more than 18 days, it can generally be confirmed that it is early pregnancy.

4. Type B ultrasound examination

Using B-ultrasound to diagnose early pregnancy is the most appropriate and reliable way. Starting in the 5th week of pregnancy, a circular halo can be seen in the uterus on the B-mode ultrasound screen, commonly known as the pregnancy ring. The shadow inside the ring is the amniotic fluid, in which the regular fetal heartbeat can also be seen.
