What to do if you drink beer during pregnancy

When a woman becomes pregnant, there are many things that she needs to pay special attention to, especially in terms of diet. She needs to supplement a lot of nutrients, but there are many foods that are not suitable for pregnant women. The main concern is that eating some foods will have adverse effects on the fetus. For example, pregnant women should not eat crabs, hawthorn or drink beer. If you drink beer without knowing you are pregnant, you should observe changes in your body.

What should pregnant women do if they drink beer?

Drinking a few bottles of beer during pregnancy will also affect the baby's physical development, so you need to pay attention to check-ups during pregnancy. It is recommended that pregnant mothers have an ultrasound examination when they are more than three months pregnant to further understand the development of the fetus. If necessary, an amniocentesis should be performed at 16-20 weeks of pregnancy to further clarify the diagnosis and see if the fetus is affected.

So, generally speaking, pregnant mothers cannot drink alcohol, and even couples who are preparing for pregnancy should avoid smoking and drinking. Drinking is very bad for the fetus and may even cause miscarriage. If a pregnant woman has drunk beer, it is best to go to the hospital for prenatal check-ups on time throughout the pregnancy to see if there are any abnormalities in the development of the fetus.

Can pregnant women drink alcohol?

It is best not to drink it, because alcohol can reduce the blood flow and oxygen carrying capacity of the placenta, causing malnutrition and hypoxia in the fetus. Frequent drinking during pregnancy can cause stillbirth, miscarriage and premature birth; low birth weight, low intelligence and even congenital malformations in newborns. The natural alcohol content in beer is low, so it can be drunk in small amounts, but drinking a lot of it regularly can be equally harmful. Pregnant women should not drink strong tea, because tea can affect the absorption of protein, iron and vitamins by pregnant women and fetuses, leading to malnutrition and constipation in pregnant women.
