What does localized mammary duct ectasia mean?

Although bilateral breast enlargement is common, it is easy to be confused with other diseases and needs to be distinguished from mastitis, breast lumps and other diseases during diagnosis. So what exactly is chest tube enlargement? In fact, breast tube enlargement is a common disease of the breast. There is no need to be nervous, but effective treatment measures must be taken to prevent the condition from developing into other diseases. Let's talk about it in detail below.

Bilateral mammary gland enlargement is not a difficult disease, but a common and benign disease. Generally, middle-aged and elderly women are very susceptible to this disease, and the most common age is 50-60 years old. The main causes of bilateral breast enlargement are the following three aspects.

Bilateral breast tube enlargement caused by tube metabolism obstruction

Many women have congenital nipple deformities, indentations and unclean nipples. Some women also have foreign hair and fiber that may cause blockage of the nipple pores, abnormal development, poor breast structure, epithelial cell hyperplasia and inflammation, stenosis, interruption and blockage of the tubes. When too much secretion is deposited in the tube, the tube will enlarge. Some middle-aged and elderly women have this disease due to ovarian decline, changes in mammary gland tubes, loose wall thickness, and myoepithelial cell thinning, which all lead to excessive accumulation of secretions in the tubes.

Abnormal growth hormone stimulation causes bilateral breast enlargement

The estrogen level in women's blood is abnormal. In the early ovulation period, the levels of estradiol and progesterone in the blood are slightly lower, but the level of lactogen is higher. Abnormal estrogen stimulation can cause abnormal metabolism of the tube epithelial cells, causing the tube to expand. If it is just blocked and there is no abnormal hormone stimulation, tube expansion will generally not occur. The metabolism of the milk is blocked, which is usually caused by the deterioration of the milk overflow period into the hardening period.

Bilateral enlargement of breast tubes due to infection

Many experts believe that bilateral mammary gland enlargement may be caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection and nipple infection. The bacteria invade the subcutaneous tissue, affect the mammary ducts, and then the mammary ducts are severed, forming fistulas. It may also be that when the tube is blocked, the fallen squamous epithelial cells and lipid secretions are deposited too much, the overflow wall is thick, and compounds are produced through dissolution, causing acid irritation or antigen reaction in the surrounding tissues.
