How to lower high blood sugar during pregnancy?

Pregnancy is a happy event with risks for women, because pregnancy will cause changes in women's bodies, among which hormonal changes are the most obvious. Many women will experience high blood sugar after pregnancy, and most of the high blood sugar levels are normal and will quickly return to normal after delivery. However, another part of women will suffer from gestational diabetes, and at this time they need to control blood sugar levels to prevent high blood sugar. Let’s take a look at how to lower high blood sugar during pregnancy.

Solution:

1. Keep monitoring your blood sugar. You can buy a blood glucose meter. Under normal circumstances, fasting plasma blood sugar is generally between 3.3 and 5.5 mmol per liter, while plasma blood sugar 2 hours after a meal is generally between 4.4 and 7.7. We generally use the four internationally unified blood sugar cut-off values for judgment, namely 5.6, 7.0, 7.8, and 11.1 mmol per liter.

After measurement, you should keep a record every time, including what you eat for each meal, your blood sugar level, your fasting level, your level 2 hours after a meal, and your level before going to bed. All should be recorded in detail.

2. If you find that your blood sugar is high during pregnancy, you should immediately stop eating sweets, and even fruits should be used with caution. This concerns the health of the pregnant woman and her baby, so you can't be careless! What should pregnant women with high blood sugar eat? Yam, onion, seaweed, carrot, black fungus, bitter melon, etc. all have the effect of raising blood sugar. Try not to use medication if you can.

3. Once a pregnant woman is diagnosed with gestational diabetes, the first thing she should do is control her diet. When eating, try to control your food intake, eat small meals frequently, extend the number of meals to 6 times a day, and reduce the amount of each meal. The main thing is to have a stable carbohydrate intake, with 250 to 300 grams of staple food per day; it is best to eat small meals frequently, five to six meals a day is appropriate. Eat less sweets and eat some low-sugar fruits in moderation. If the above appetite of pregnant women cannot be satisfied, you can have a small snack between meals, mainly protein-rich foods, and should consume more vegetables and fiber-rich foods.

Taboo food:

1. Sugar: white sugar, soft sugar, brown sugar, rock sugar, hard candy;

2. Sweets: beverages, chocolate, sweet biscuits, sweet bread, cakes, bee milk, honey, ketchup, jam, candied fruits, red dates, longan, plums, olives;

3. Flour-rich foods: broad beans, sprouted beans, potatoes, sweet potatoes, taro, rice noodle skin, jelly, roasted rice, and water gluten;

4. Oils and fats: peanuts, melon seeds, walnuts, pine nuts, etc.

It is forbidden to eat it, so it is better to eat less.
