Simple ways to scientifically manage confinement

Speaking of folk customs during the confinement period, there are really many different ones. Some say that you cannot get out of bed, take a bath, wash your feet, etc. In fact, these are not very scientific. Just think about how many bacteria there would be if you don’t take a bath for a month, and how weak the person would become if you don’t get out of bed. So now we urge everyone to have a scientific confinement period and not blindly follow the practices of the older generation. Let’s take a look at how to have a scientific confinement period.

When it comes to confinement after childbirth, there are many things to pay attention to, but one very important point is not to catch a cold. In addition to this, do you know what else to pay attention to when a mother is in confinement? Here are some scientific ways to help a mother take care of herself:

1. A good mood is more conducive to recovery

Due to physiological changes, women after childbirth are more mentally fragile, and coupled with increased stress, they are likely to develop postpartum depression. Therefore, it is important to maintain a happy atmosphere at home, especially the husband should be more considerate of his wife and give her support both spiritually and in life.

2. Get enough rest.

Rest is the top priority during confinement. After giving birth, you must rest at home, pay attention to sleep, and don't let yourself get tired again, but never lie in bed for a whole month. Usually, you should be able to start walking around the day after your baby is born.

3. Eat a balanced diet

In the first few days after delivery, your body is very weak. It has to recover its own physiological functions while breastfeeding. Therefore, you need sufficient heat energy and various nutrients, while also taking into account your gastrointestinal function that has not yet fully recovered.

4. Avoid sexual intercourse

The female reproductive organs undergo the trauma of pregnancy and childbirth, and it takes some time for them to return to normal. It takes 56 days for the mother's body to fully recover. You can only start sexual life 56 days after a normal delivery, and it is best to start sexual life after menstruation resumes. For those who had forceps or suture delivery, they can only start having sex after the wound has healed and the scar has formed; if it was a caesarean section, they have to wait at least three months.

5. Pay attention to the recovery of the uterus

After delivery, you should pay attention to the recovery of the uterus, that is, observe the color of the lochia changing from red to white, the amount gradually decreasing, and the smell from bloody to odorless. Generally, it should be discharged after one month. If the lochia is not clear or abnormal, you should see a doctor in time. Remember to go to the hospital for a postpartum check-up 6-8 weeks after delivery.
