What to do if the fallopian tube is inflamed

Getting married is a major event in a woman’s life, and having children is a major event in marriage. The fallopian tube is the most important reproductive part of women. Due to many reasons, it is also the part most prone to disease. Therefore, some daily health care measures are necessary. If the fallopian tubes are inflamed, it is likely to affect conception and will also cause harm to the health of the baby.

Causes of fallopian tube inflammation:

Conception is a very complex physiological process. In addition to having normal sperm, eggs and an appropriate intrauterine environment, allowing sperm and eggs to meet and be smoothly transported to the uterine cavity is also an important part of the conception process. This task is accomplished by the fallopian tubes. If the fallopian tube is blocked due to inflammation, the sperm cannot meet the egg and cause infertility, which is called fallopian tube obstruction infertility. Clinically, 80% of infertility patients are caused by fallopian tube factors. Fallopian tube obstruction is often caused by adhesion, congestion, edema of the fallopian tube wall due to miscarriage, unclean sexual intercourse, pelvic infection, etc., which leads to blockage, resulting in the inability of sperm and egg to combine, and ultimately causes infertility.

1. The physiological defense function of the female reproductive tract against infection is weakened during menstruation, after miscarriage or in the postpartum period: If female friends do not pay attention to hygiene during the menstrual cycle or have sexual intercourse, bacteria can easily ascend through the mucous membrane and cause infection of the fallopian tube lining.

2. Disseminated infection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis: Mycobacterium tuberculosis spreads to the fallopian tubes through the blood circulation, thereby causing the occurrence of salpingitis.

3. Gonorrheal infection: This condition is also the main cause of acute salpingo-oophoritis.

4. Lesions in organs adjacent to the fallopian tube: This is also one of the causes of salpingitis. Diseases such as appendicitis and colon diverticulitis can spread to the fallopian tube through direct contact and cause inflammation.

Treatment

General treatment

Rest in bed in a semi-recumbent position to help localize the inflammation and prevent it from spreading upward. Pay attention to nutritional supplementation and maintaining water and electrolyte balance. After the diagnosis is clear, antipyretic and analgesic drugs can be used appropriately.

Infection Control

Based on pathogenic microorganisms and drug sensitivity tests, try to choose effective antibiotics appropriately, with sufficient dosage and thorough and effective anti-inflammatory effect.

Surgery

For patients with salpingitis, immediate surgery should be performed to remove the lesions to prevent the inflammation from spreading rapidly into sepsis and endangering life. For localized pelvic abscesses, if fullness and fluctuation can be felt in the posterior fornix, incision and drainage can be performed.

Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatment

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that fallopian tube obstruction is mainly caused by factors such as phlegm and dampness stagnation, qi deficiency and blood stasis, kidney deficiency and blood stasis, damp-heat stasis, qi stagnation and blood stasis, cold and dampness stagnation, etc. Therefore, the treatment should be based on the basic principles of anti-inflammatory and analgesic, blood circulation and blood stasis, and qi and blood tonification, so as to comprehensively regulate the body's circulation and effectively improve the symptoms of fallopian tube obstruction in women.
