How to treat adnexitis?

Adnexitis is a common disease in obstetrics and gynecology. The ovaries and cystic ducts are called uterine appendages. When the ovaries and cystic ducts become inflamed, it is adnexitis. Generally speaking, adnexitis is divided into acute and chronic types, and adnexitis is a recurring disease that is difficult to treat. So what are the methods for treating uterine adnexitis?

1. Blood stasis and heat syndrome (Guiyuanhu decoction):

Take 20g of Patrinia salsa, 15g each of Angelica sinensis, Corydalis yanhusuo, Rhubarb with wine, Red Peony Root, and Peach Kernel, and 12g of Cyperus rotundus, decocted in water; if there is obvious stabbing pain in the lower abdomen, add 10g each of frankincense and myrrh to remove blood stasis and stop bleeding; for patients with adnexitis with obvious lower abdominal distension and pain, add 10g each of Toosendan Fructus and Citrus aurantium to promote qi and relieve pain; if the menstrual flow is scanty, dark in color and clotted, add 20g of Leonurus japonicus to promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis. If the amount of leucorrhea is large and yellow in color, add 15 grams of Artemisia capillaris and 12 grams of Alisma orientalis, which have the effects of clearing dampness and heat, promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, clearing away heat and detoxifying.

2. Damp-heat type (addition and subtraction of the prescription for stopping leucorrhea):

Take 12 grams each of Poria, Plantago seed (package), red peony root, 10 grams each of Phellodendron, Achyranthes bidentata, Moutan bark, Atractylodes, 6 grams each of Alisma orientalis and Capillaris; if abdominal pain is obvious, add 10 grams each of Corydalis yanhusuo and Toosendan fruit to promote qi and relieve pain; if appetite is poor and stools are loose, replace Atractylodes with stir-fried Atractylodes 10 grams, add 20 grams of raw Coix seed and 18 grams of Poria. It has the effects of strengthening the spleen and removing dampness, clearing away heat and removing dampness, and is helpful for the treatment of adnexitis.

3. Chronic adnexitis (promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis):

Salvia miltiorrhiza 18g, red peony root 15g, costus root 12g, peach kernel 9g, honeysuckle 30g, dandelion 30g, Poria 12g, moutan bark 9g, raw rehmannia glutinosa 9g. Add Corydalis yanhusuo 9g when the pain is severe. Some patients are of the cold stagnation and qi stagnation type, and the treatment principle is to warm the meridians and dispel cold, promote qi and activate blood circulation. Guizhi Fuling Decoction is often used with modifications. For patients with qi deficiency, add 15g of Codonopsis pilosula, 9g of Atractylodes macrocephala, and 15g of Astragalus membranaceus.
