What are the precautions after curettage for endometrial thickening?

The endometrium is the most important tissue in the uterus and plays an extremely important role in pregnancy. Because the development of the fertilized egg must rely on the implantation of the endometrium, the health of the endometrium is directly related to the ability to become pregnant. In modern life, more and more women have endometrial thickening, which has a negative impact on pregnancy. Therefore, more and more women undergo curettage. What are the precautions after curettage for endometrial thickening?

The endometrium is the mucous membrane covering the uterine cavity and is one of the most differentiated tissues in the human body. The thickness of the normal endometrium changes with the menstrual cycle and is not constant. The thickness of the endometrium is different at different stages of the menstrual cycle. If the endometrium is thick, menstruation is likely to be very painful and the fertilized egg will not be easy to implant. The normal thickness of the endometrium is 0.2-1.0 cm. During menstruation, the functional layer of the endometrium is shed, leaving the basal layer. During the proliferative phase, which is from the 6th to the 14th day of menstruation, the endometrium is 1-3mm thick. During the secretory phase, which is from the 15th to the 28th day of menstruation, the endometrium is 5-7mm thick.

During the ovarian cycle, when follicles develop and mature in the ovaries, under the action of estrogen secreted by the ovaries, the blood supply to the endometrium is enhanced, and a gradual thickening phenomenon, namely the proliferative endometrium, occurs. The thickening of the endometrium provides good conditions for the implantation of the fertilized egg and the growth and development of the embryo. After ovulation, under the action of progesterone and estrogen secreted by the corpus luteum of the ovary, the thickened endometrium begins to secrete, namely the secretory endometrium.

The following are the precautions after curettage for endometrial hyperplasia:

1. You need to rest for 3-5 days and avoid contact with cold water to avoid increasing the risk of arthritis.

2. Sexual intercourse, sitz baths, vaginal douching, and medication are prohibited within one month, because at this time the cervix is relaxed, the endometrium is shed, and the local defense ability is reduced, which can easily cause retrograde infection and cause pelvic inflammation such as endometritis and adnexitis.

3. Keep the vulva clean to prevent bacterial infection.

4. Pay attention to regular check-ups after curettage.
