What to do if your uterus prolapses after giving birth

After giving birth, new mothers are prone to uterine prolapse. Depending on the severity of the uterine prolapse, appropriate treatment and conditioning methods should be taken. If it is more serious, surgical treatment can be performed, certain Chinese medicine can be used for conditioning, and a pessary can be used for prevention. For milder uterine prolapse, you must pay attention to adequate rest, empty your bowels and bladder in time, and change your sleeping posture.

1. Surgical treatment

The main purpose is to shorten the length of the ligament to achieve the purpose of lifting the uterus.

2. Traditional Chinese medicine treatment

The main thing is to take some qi and kidney-tonifying medicines to achieve the purpose of lifting the uterus.

3. Use a pessary

For women whose uterine prolapse is not too serious, a pessary can be used to treat uterine prolapse, with significant results. However, this method is not suitable for women with severe uterine prolapse or too loose vagina. It is generally recommended that the pessary be used during working hours and should be removed and cleaned before sleeping at night.

4. Exercise your pelvic floor muscles

If uterine prolapse is caused by excessive relaxation of the pelvic floor muscles, it is recommended to exercise the pelvic floor muscles, which can improve the symptoms of uterine prolapse. A common exercise method is levator ani muscle exercise, which is suitable for patients with mild uterine prolapse. It is recommended to practice two to three times a day, each time for about fifteen minutes.

5. Take some rest

If uterine prolapse is caused by overwork, you must pay more attention to rest and try to avoid heavy physical labor. It is best not to engage in heavy physical labor, otherwise it will aggravate the symptoms of uterine prolapse.

6. Empty your bowels and bladder promptly

Whether holding urine or constipation, it will increase abdominal pressure, thereby causing or aggravating the symptoms of uterine prolapse. Therefore, female friends should empty their urine and feces in time, which will help improve the symptoms of uterine prolapse. If constipation is severe, it is recommended to eat more fresh fruits and vegetables, which can effectively relieve constipation symptoms.

7. Change your sleeping position

Sleeping posture can easily affect the position of the uterus, especially for pregnant women who lie in a supine position for a long time, which may cause uterine prolapse. It is recommended to change the sleeping position, such as sleeping on the left side, which can relieve the symptoms of uterine prolapse in pregnant women.
