What should I do if uterine erosion is serious? What are the treatments?

Uterine erosion is called cervical erosion in medicine. It is mainly erosion and ulcers on the surface of the endometrium, which mainly appear as edema. Under the microscope, different degrees of erosion will show different symptoms. In terms of treatment methods, the most common one is medication in the early stage, mainly a combination of Chinese and Western medicine. In severe cases, physical treatment combined with traditional surgery can be selected. Women who want to have children can choose high-frequency surgery.

1. Drug treatment: suitable for patients with smaller erosion area and shallower inflammatory infiltration. Antibiotics can be used for local application, such as metronidazole, sulfonamides, furazolidone, etc. Traditional Chinese medicine is widely used in the clinical treatment of cervical erosion, and the effect is also good. Some proven prescriptions and formulas are often selected, processed into powders or suppositories, placed on cotton balls, and applied to the eroded surface.

2. Physical therapy: It is a widely used treatment method with the advantages of short treatment course and good efficacy. It is suitable for patients with larger erosion area and deeper inflammatory infiltration. Commonly used methods include electric ironing, laser therapy, and cryotherapy.

3. Traditional surgical treatment: If the above treatment is ineffective, or there is cervical hypertrophy, or the erosion is deep and wide, and involves the cervical canal, traditional surgical treatments such as total hysterectomy can be considered. However, surgical treatment is rarely used nowadays.

4. High-frequency LEEP technique: The tissue specimen is intact and is not prone to the phenomenon of tissue stretching and carbonization that occurs during traditional electric knife cutting. This allows for the acquisition of intact tissue specimens that do not affect pathological examination.

5. BBT ablation: BBT ablation is a very delicate surgery for treating cervical erosion. It not only does not damage the surrounding tissues, but also is painless during the treatment and leaves no scars after the surgery. It can also better avoid complications such as bleeding or infection, and has the advantage of not affecting reproductive function after the surgery.
